  • Luxurious geodesic dome 15 minutes' walk from Monsampolo del Tronto
  • Ascoli Piceno and San Benedetto del Tronto both 20 minutes' drive
  • Private hot tub, sauna and Turkish bath, plus fridge and TV
If you’d like to lose yourselves in the gorgeous landscapes of the Marche countryside for a while, Glamping Lost is a fine place to do just that. Guests here are accommodated in a smart geodesic dome that’s got a huge transparent window so you can admire the scenery at all times, whether outdoors or tucked up in bed. The views all around here are pretty spectacular, both around the site and out in the surrounding hills. There are plenty of trails around where those with a sense of adventure can get out to see some more of the scenery – and you’ll even get a good taster of it all if you take the 15-minute walk down to the local village of Monsampolo del Tronto for a drink or a pizza. Looking a little further afield to fill your days, a drive of 20 minutes or so to the east will get you to the elegant city of Ascoli Piceno. Take a similar length of drive in the other direction and you’ll hit the seaside at San Benedetto del Tronto. It is, however, highly possible that you’ll want to spend a fair amount of time on site here – Glamping Lost is a peaceful and luxurious spot with some fabulous facilities that really lend themselves to a bit of pampering. For many, the highlight is the outdoor hot tub (for soaking up the views while you soak your stressed muscles), but the wellbeing offerings don't end there. Inside the dome you can sort something of a DIY spa break with your own sauna, Turkish bath and ‘emotional shower’ (all colour-changing lights and hydromassage jets). Also provided in the dome are air conditioning, wifi and a TV, plus a fridge to keep your drinks cool (ready for hot tub time…)

Local attractions

If you only make it off site once, it should be for a trip to Ascoli Piceno (20 minutes’ drive) – it’s a gorgeous city centred around the Piazza del Popolo and with lots of lovely little churches and squares to explore. Make time to eat some of the stuffed olives too – they’re a local delicacy for a reason. More tasty offerings are on hand in San Benedetto del Tronto (also 20 minutes), where seafood is on the menu in seafront restaurants. Build up an appetite by spending some time on the long sandy beach or strolling among the 7000 palm trees on the promenade. If you don’t fancy going that far, just wander into Monsampolo del Tronto to visit the archaeological museum and the crypt that houses the Monsampolo Mummy, or drop in on a local winery to see if you can try a sample or two.
