Countryside, coast and city time can all be part of your break when you stay at Amapolas Agricampeggio. This site is part of a farm (covering the countryside element) and about 15 minutes’ drive from Portonovo (for the coast part) and Ancona (for your city time).
That puts this friendly site in a great location for a Marche holiday that’s packed with variety – and on a schedule where you can pick and choose what you fancy doing on a day-by-day basis. With easy access from the E55 and SS16, the site is easy to reach – and easy to get around from, with a bus stop just 20 metres away for services to Ancona and the beaches of Sirolo, Numana and Marcelli.
It sounds likely that you’ll fill your days pretty easily around here – so it’s good to know that you’ll have a nice peaceful place to relax in between your outings, plus access to handy facilities including toilets, showers, a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area.
The small town of Camerano is about a kilometre away for a supermarket and a couple of places to eat, but you’ll surely want to save most of your appetite for sampling the specialities produced on site – bread, wines, extra-virgin olive oil and the local paccasassi (sea fennel) – alongside cured meats and cheeses from local producers.

- Reception is unmanned after 7:30 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.
- At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.
- A cable measuring at least 4 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
- This is a quiet campground/park: no music is allowed.

Local attractions
The little town of Camerano is more than just your nearest place for a supermarket; it’s also home to an intriguing underground network of tunnels dating back thousands of years. Pay a visit here and you’ll hear all about the various things this subterranean city has been used for over the years.
Ancona (15 minutes’ drive) is best known to many people as a busy ferry port, but there’s more to it than that. Head down here to visit the Romanesque-Byzantine cathedral, the Roman amphitheatre and Passetto beach, as well as sampling some of the local seafood dishes. Nearby towns like Osimo (15 minutes), Recanati (20 minutes) and Loreto (20 minutes) are good options for urban wanders on a smaller scale.
As for coast time, there are plenty of beaches to choose from – Mezzavalle, Sirolo, Portonovo, Numana and Marcelli are all within a 15-minute drive and make lovely places to relax and take dips in the sea.
