What a lot there is to do on – and around – the spectacular family park of Villaggio Camping delle Rose in the Emilia Romagna region: you could settle yourself down here for activities and leisure pursuits to keep you occupied on site for weeks… or just saunter along to the beach a mere 500 metres away for sandy times and watery dips daily. The site is six kilometres from the pretty old port town of Cesenatico, in the province of Forlì-Cesena and about 40 minutes' drive from Ravenna. For days not basking, bathing or urban sightseeing, take yourself and the kids along to the big pool and paddling pool with waterslides for a day in the water, to the sports ground or pétanque court for family competitions, or just to laze under tall trees on your spacious, well-shaded pitch with an electric hook-up. Facilities-wise, you can tuck into tasty dishes and generous portions at the restaurant-pizzeria on site; you'll also find a coin-operated laundry and ironing service, plus a supermarket 500 metres away. A regular – and free – shuttle bus operates from reception to the beach and back in high season.

Liked Der Platz bietet eine angenehme Ruhe, ideal zum Entspannen. Die familiäre Umgebung sorgt für ein herzliches Miteinander unter den Gästen. Der Campingplatz selbst ist großzügig und gut gestaltet.

Liked Mooie grote schaduwrijke plek, dicht bij het strand, ook sanitair goed voorzien. Goede uitvalsbasis voor Ravenna, Bologna en Rimini.

Disliked Voor de wasmachine waren munten nodig, die konden alleen bij de bar gehaald worden. De bar was alleen na 19.00 uur open.
Veel lawaai van het strand.

Liked Les petits jeunes qui travaillent pour contenter tout le monde et le service nettoyage les sanitaires toujours propre

Disliked Réception très peu parle le français pas agréable emplacement trop petit pas de plage public ou alors sur des rochers toute les plages faut payer les transats devant 25 euros derrière à 150 mètres de la mer 15 euros enfaîte il y a rien pour les étrangers qui parlent pas italien personne dit bonjour à les quelque français qu'on a croisé désolé je déconseille se camping et je retournerai plus en Italie

From the manager: Ce monsieur se plaint du manque de personnel francophone (dans notre reception: trois personnes sur cinq parlent français). Il souhaitait également bénéficier d'un service de plage gratuit (dans les stations balnéaires, les parasols et les transats sont payants, comme c'est le cas en France). Or, une plage gratuite se trouve à seulement 1 km. Quant au site web, nous ne comprenons pas ce qui est trompeur.

Heureusement, nous avons des clients fidèles qui viennent depuis des années et qui nient catégoriquement ces allégations.

Liked The showers and pool was lovely. The security guard was very pleasant and helpful, nice pitches. Convenient supermarket and restaurant did a nice pizza.

Disliked The play areas need a bit of maintenance and the beach was quite difficult if you take your own equipment. There was a small strip next to the rocks you were allowed to go as the rest was reserved for paid beds, not the campsites fault but for beach people it may not be as expected.

Liked Il personale alla reception gentile e disponibile, il ristorante anche lì personale gentilissimo cibo buono e prezzi onestissimi, e anche gli addetti in giro per il campeggio molto disponibili. Ottima posizione

Disliked La pecca del campeggio, ultima mattina, dovevamo lasciare la piazzola per 12.00 avremmo voluto goderci un po di piscina prima di rientrare e farci ore di traffico, era nuvoloso e ventoso ma si vedeva già l’azzurro che di lì a poco sarebbe tornato (NON PIOVEVA NON TUONAVA e comunque due giorni prima in cui tuonava il tutto è durato si e no 10 minuti per poi tornare sereno)… beh il bagnino ci ha fatto uscire dalla piscina perché ha deciso di chiudere… sinceramente ci ha rovinato la mattinata che avremmo potuto goderci prima di immergerci nel traffico. PS ce ne siamo andati e lo abbiamo visto 5 minuti dopo salutare il personale alla reception e uscire dal campeggio. Certo chi rimaneva al campeggio poteva tornare in piscina al pomeriggio ma noi avremmo tanto voluto goderci quell oretta in più.

History, culture, food and entertainment… Emilia Romagna has the lot. Your closest coastal town is Cesenatico (with a port that was surveyed and drawn by one Leonardo da Vinci): head here for handsome scenery, a marine museum with old fishing boats displayed in the canal, and – perhaps something you wouldn't expect on the Italian coast – a 118-metre skyscraper. Historyheads of a certain (geeky) persuasion may also care to hear that Cesenatico is at the mouth of the Rubicon – see if you feel brave enough to go, see and conquer… Other highlights within easy reach include the famed seaside resort of Rimini (20 minutes' drive), with its 15-kilometre beach and so many sights to see you could wander around for weeks (the Tiberius Bridge, Augustus Arch, city museum and Gambalunghiana Library are top picks, as are lazy and peaceful times in Rimini's many parks). San Marino (45 minutes) is also a must, for its three towers, its cathedral and the aerial tramway to Monte Titano. Theme parks and waterparks are plentiful around here too: try Italia in Miniatura 10 minutes' drive from the site, Acquafan 20 minutes away and Mirabilandia within 25.
