Lakeside holiday, anyone? Aranypart Camping and Apartments sits on the southeastern shore of stunning Lake Balaton – and you know what that means: direct access to a grassy beach and wild swimming, for starters, but also a multitude of watersports. So while you relax on the lawn, the more active members of your family can try paddleboarding, wakeboarding or waterskiing. There are plenty more active pursuits on site, with a volleyball court, miniature golf, giant chess, sports fields, ping-pong table, an outdoor pool (with comfortable sun loungers) and a playground for the kids. Your four-legged friend isn’t left behind, either: there is a dog park and a number of splendid dog-friendly walks in the vicinity. Speaking of which, an excellent way to explore the local area is on two wheels, which you can rent here. Where will your cycling adventure take you? Maybe along the scenic lake-cycle paths, to the nearby town of Siófok (five minutes’ drive or a 10-minute bike ride) or, if you have a bit more stamina in you, to the Lookout of Balatonföldvár (25 minutes, or one hour and 10 minutes by bike), part of a maritime museum. Alternatively, you might want to attempt the 26-kilometre loop that starts at Siófok’s Water Tower and leads you through the lush landscape surrounding the lake. Other activities include a children’s entertainment programme (from early July), massages for stressed-out adults and, in the evenings, lively beach parties and entertainment for all ages. Meanwhile, the on-site restaurant, with several buffets (including options for people with food intolerances), ought to relieve you of the headache of what to cook.

Great spot by Lake Balaton, shaded pitches, waterside access. Friendly staff, easy check-in, power & water sorted. Pool, playground, shop a hit. BUT, older loos/showers need a spruce-up, and heaps of bugs at night are a bother. Some reckon it's a bit steep price-wise. Management is onto the bug problem.

Liked Nice place not far away from water. Positive and kind animators.

Disliked Not well cared toailets and service buildings. Dirty, destroied and not fresh. Old food in the frige with mold. Receptions workers poorly speak english. Life guard at the pool just sitting in the mobile and scroll social media or talk with friends on the speaker. The most of them (workers) are kids hanging around and chat with eachother instead to take care about area - its just filthy everywhere.

Liked Problemlose Buchung , nettes Personal am Eingang und Rezeption , Platz nah am Wasser. Nette Platznachbarn, Sprachbarrieren haben’s lustig gemacht.

Disliked Unzählige Zuckmücken , Stellplatz lag ungünstig „faule Camper“ nutzten ihn permanent als Abkürzung zum Strand, Hinweise wurden belächelt. Man ist quasi zwischen Esstisch und Kocher mal fix durch. Desto älter desto dreister. Leider fand ich weder Toiletten noch Duschen als angenehm sauber, auch die Aufwaschplätze wurden von anderen Campern sehr schlampig verlassen. Kritik weniger am Platz, mehr an die Camper.

Liked Großer Campingplatz, Kinderbetreuung, direkte Strandlage, Küche, Waschmaschine, Die Empfangsdame die Deutsch sprach war super hilfsbereit und sehr Kundenfreundlich

Disliked Unser Stellplatz war dreckig zuerst hieß es das wäre der einzige Platz nach netten Bitten doch ein anderen bekommen, Sanitär Anlagen und Küche nicht mehr so wie letztes Jahr regelmäßig geputzt. Reinigungkräfte saßen vor den Sanitäranlagen meistens und tranken Sangria. Männer sind oft auf Frauen WC gegangen was sehr unangenehm für uns Frauen war Pool sehr dreckig, Bademeister liegt nur auf der liege und spielt Handy. Glasscherben wurden erst mit großen Nachdruck sauber gemacht. Meine Tochter hat dadurch ein Glassplitter in den Fuß bekommen. Die restlichen Empfangsdamen waren sehr gleichgültig einen Rollstuhl Fahrer haben Sie sogar ausgelacht weil er am Rollstuhl ein Anbau hatte der Motorisiert war.

Disliked Stellplätze uneben teilweise nur Schukosteckdosen und Wasser musste man mit der Gießkanne aus 200 Meter Entfernung holen.

Local attractions

In addition to resident meerkats and emus (among many other animals), Bella Zoo Park (five minutes’ drive) arranges camel and pony rides for both children and adults. There is also a bouncing castle and bubble football, which sees players running around the pitch (and into their opponents) safely enclosed within a huge inflated plastic bubble. A large swathe of woodland is home to Zamárdi Adventure Park (15 minutes), which has treetop courses and zipwires for all ages, plus a jumping tower, a maze and pond-based rides such as water dodgems and a water zorb for two people. A pretty village on the peninsula stretching into Lake Balaton, Tihany (one hour) is known for Levendula Ház Látogatóközpont (Lavender House), with exhibits on the cultivation of this fragrant, colourful plant.
