Villatent at Camping La Garenne

If you’re off to La Voulte-sur-Rhône (10 minutes’ drive), stick around to take a wander around its château for grand river views. A little further up the river in Étoile-sur-Rhône (20 minutes) you can launch yourself out onto the water at the floating obstacle park Étoile Park. Across the river in Soyons, a small treat for train enthusiasts is Jardin des Trains Ardechois (20 minutes), where a model railway wends its way through a 2800 m² set featuring more than 1000 mini figures. For a larger train-based treat, head to the Train de l’Ardèche (45 minutes) for a steam-powered trip through some stunning scenery. Go south along the riverside for around 40 minutes instead and you’ll get to Montelimar, famed for its sweet production and confectionery shops but also home to an aircraft museum, a toy museum and an ancient château.
