What a cinch it is to get to the most excellent city of Aix-en-Provence from Camping le Cézanne, 350 metres above sea level on Sainte-Victoire mountain: an hourly shuttle bus runs from site to the city. If you're a day tripper (as you certainly should be at this splendidly set place), flip open your itinerary notebook and list all the other destinations it's a cinch to get to from here too: Marseilles within 45 minutes, the fishing town of La Ciotat, the shopping and medieval Old Town of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, the Mediterranean port of Cassis and its white wine… On Montagne Sainte-Victoire, this is a great spot for hiking, climbing or walks in the vineyards. Active and outdoorsy days easy to access include golf, horse riding, mountain biking and tennis nearby, or hikes and climbs further afield around the extensive Sainte-Baume mountain ridge and its cliffs, ancient woodlands and spectacular natural sights such as the Gorges du Caramy and Tombereau waterfall. The Luberon Regional Natural Park, in Provence, is less than an hour's drive to the north. Camping le Cézanne is in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of south-east France, under 15 minutes' walk to the shops and restaurants of local village Puyloubier. If you don't care to amble even that far, a pizzeria-restaurant and a bar are on site, along with gas cylinder sales. Takeaway is available too. The site has a pétanque court and a ping-pong table; the sports pitch, a skate park and an outdoor fitness centre are located at the foot of the campsite.

Liked La zona era muy tranquila, lavaderos para vajilla, el agua caliente de las duchas funcionaba bien.

Liked What a beautiful location and the reception was exceptional.
On arrival a full explanation of the site was given in detail before personally being taken to my pitch.
Pitch was level with easy access to electricity and water.
Toilet block was also close and immaculate.

Nous sommes désolés d'apprendre que votre séjour n'ai pas répondu à vos attentes alors même que nous n'avons eu aucune remarque formulée lors de votre séjour. Notre camping étant au pied de la montagne, nos emplacements sont en restanque, nous veillons à ce que les emplacements et leurs accès soient attribués en fonction des tailles des véhicules.
Concernant l'eau chaude des sanitaires, nous n'avons pas eu de remarques en temps réel, ce qui est dommage car nous aurions pu essayer d'agir ou du moins d'identifier la source du problème. Nous espérons que vous n'ayez pas eu de l'eau froide pendant 2 jours sans que rien ne nous soit signalé par vous ou par nos autres clients.....

We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, even though we had no comments during your stay. Our campsite is at the foot of the mountains and our pitches are in terraces. We make sure that the pitches and their access are allocated according to the size of the vehicles.
Concerning the hot water in the sanitary facilities, we did not receive any comments in real time, which is a pity because we could have tried to take action or at least identify the source of the problem. We hope you didn't have cold water for 2 days without anything being reported to us by you or our other customers.....

Local attractions

Take the frequent shuttle bus from the site to the splendidly scenic city of Aix, founded by the Romans way back in the BCs and famed as an arty and cultural centre in the centuries since (if you're a reader or writerly sort, you'll def want to sup a coffee in the Deux Garçons brasserie, a hangout space for intellectual types like Cézanne, Zola and Hemingway). Aix is also famed for its Festival d'Aix-en-Provence opera fest, in late June and July in fab settings such as the Théâtre de l'Archévêché in the former garden of the archbishop's palace. In other months, there are museums, galleries and libraries to dreamily potter around, including the Musée Granet which covers the painting, sculpture and the archaeology of Aix (hint: there's quite a lot). Around the same distance by road (45 minutes) will take you to Marseilles if you're of an urge to sightsee around France's second biggest city (hint: you really should). Also needing a look are La Ciotat and Cassis, both within 50 minutes, and the old spa town of Gréoux-les-Bains, about an hour away.
