Want to spend your hols with a sweet breakfast cocktail in hand at all times? A stay at Camping Le Parc des Monges in the Alpes-Maritimes area of the south of France may be the next best thing – it’s among the mimosa fields of Pays de Grasse.
If it’s stunning countryside walks you’re after, you’re in luck – Le Parc des Monges is well placed for exploring the area on foot. The site is a five-minute drive from Auribeau-sur-Siagne where you can follow paths along the river, 10 minutes from the Route du Mimosa walk's starting point in Pégomas, and is a good base for plenty of other trails in the Alpes-Maritimes area.
Avid anglers won’t have to leave the site to have try their luck with the rod and reel: Le Parc des Monges borders the fishing river of Siagne, where you can throw out a line to try and land some of the fish that swim its lengths.
After all that walking and fishing, dive into the pool to cool off or reward yourself with something from the snack bar. If you’ve built up more of an appetite than that, fill yourself up from the bread and pastries service before heading to one of the many nearby restaurants.

Camping Le Parc des Monges is within easy reach of several Alpes-Maritimes and French Riviera destinations you’ll want to explore. The perfume town of Grasse is 15 minutes away and is a must-see – or must-smell… Pay a visit to the International Museum of Perfume for a history of scents.
If you’re picturing a beachside getaway in the south of France, head to the seaside towns of Théoule-sur-Mer or Mandelieu-la-Napoule. For something more glamorous, Cannes is half an hour’s drive from the site and Nice is 50 minutes away.
Like swimming but a tad nervous of the ocean? Take a dip at Lac de Saint-Cassien, 40 minutes’ drive from Le Parc des Monges, and try boating and windsurfing while you’re there. Anyone chasing a more high-octane thrill should make their way to Gorges du Loup, 40 minutes away, for canoeing, kayaking and paragliding.
Entertain the kids with a trip to Le Pré des Pitchouns to meet farm animals, bounce their energy out on the trampolines or play a round of miniature golf – if that’s not fitting the bill, Marineland animal park and waterpark is half an hour from the site.
