Beach buffs won't have to go far with a break at Camping de la Bosse on the island of Noirmoutier, for it's set right by the sea with direct access to a long length of sand running alongside. This is the beach of Bosse, a relatively quiet spot edged by pine trees and sand dunes in the Vendée commune of L'Épine and a stellar spot for wanders and watersports.
Also directly accessible from the site is the port and marina of Morin, where the adventurous can hire jetskis or boats or stroll among the canoes and flat-bottomed boats hauled up on the sands. Watersports of all sorts are easily accessible from this peaceful L'Épine base: ask the site team about local fishing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and kayaking around this part of the island or slightly further afield at Barbâtre or La Guérinière.
Camping de la Bosse is an eco-friendly site with a firm focus on environmental protection, sustainability and promoting local heritage and culture. It has toilets and showers, disabled facilities, a launderette and a play area.

Local attractions
Activities of all sorts are within a short stroll or drive of the site. If you want to stick close to home, Camping de la Bosse's setting by the sea and beach has it well placed for watersports and sandy days as well as lazy times by the marina or taking a hire boat out.
Cycle paths and horse riding are available nearby for land-based activities, or you could investigate the island's 50 kilometres or so of hiking trails, through varied landscapes such as pine and oak forest, coast and sand, and the famed Noirmoutier salt marshes. Details of five island walks can be picked up at the island's tourist offices.
A good handful of guided tours are available to sort from the tourist offices too, such as trips around the oyster farm of Port du Bonhomme or to old sites like Saint Philbert Church and the village of Vieil.
A few kilometres from the site is the island capital of Noirmoutier-en-l’Île, home to another marina and harbour as well as a fine selection of cafés and restaurants, a lively market and a seventeenth-century castle.
