  • On a landscaped park between Lot and the Causses du Quercy
  • Three kilometres from Padirac Cave
  • Pool with lots of sunbathing space; play area; green garden terrace
If you're the type who's partial to delving into ancient and famed caves (and how jolly sensible of you if so), you'll savour the setting of the Lot's Le Village de Thegra, only three kilometres from spectacular Padirac, the most-visited cave system in France. It's a splendid old setting here all round too, as Padirac is in turn about 12 kilometres from the jaw-droppingly smashing clifftop village of Rocamadour, and a short drive from the old town of Gramat. And you're sorted as well for outdoor activities and scenery: Le Village de Thegra is deep in French countryside between the Lot department and the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park, in an area of pilgrimage route hiking, Lot river canoeing and ambilng around handsome French villages. Covering just over two and a half hectares, Le Village de Thegra is a landscaped and pretty park among greenery and flowers. The range of leisure options on site for guests includes a big outdoor pool, open in summer and with sun loungers alongside; a playground for the kids; a games room and a ping pong table. Or you might just want to settle down on the green garden terrace instead, where plenty of tables, chairs and colourful parasols await among these pretty surrounds.

Local attractions

There's so much to see and do around this part of the Lot, whether you want to head to lively family attractions, get active, or potter peacefully around the region's many historic sites. The Padirac Cave or the Gouffre de Padirac three kilometres away is a vast system of over 100 metres deep, reached by a staircase and then navigated by boat. There's also some walking to be had, into the enormous space and among the stalactites of the Grand Dome: do go see. Another must in the region is Rocamadour, the ancient village that was once a central part of the French pilgrimage route. Among its most famed sights are its Stations of the Cross and the seven sanctuaries of the religious centre, but the whole village is stunning all around: for this one too, do go see. Stacks of family and animaly days out are in the area too, like chattering among the many macaques at La Forêt des Singes; the Rocher des Aigles birds of prey park and the Gramat animal park; the waterpark of Quercyland, and the bugs and butterflies of splendid Insectopia. Or just make it your mission to visit as many beaut towns of the region as you can: as well as Gramat 10 kilometres away, it's also easy from here to get to Collonges-La-Rouge, Autoire, Loubressac, Carennac, Turenne, Sarlat...
