Camping Les Bords du Tarn is a peaceful and shaded family site set on the banks of the Tarn river at the entrance of the Tarn and Jonte gorges. As it's in the middle of the UNESCO-listed Grands Causses Natural Regional Park, it's surrounded by high plateaus, caves and foothills and within easy reach of several historic hillside villages such as Le Rozier, which is around a kilometre from the property. At the site you'll find a heated outdoor pool, a private fishing lake, a restaurant and a grocery store selling essentials. There's also a pétanque court, outdoor ping pong tables, a playground and canoe/kayak rental. Amenities include an accessible sanitary block with toilets and hot showers, a washing-up area and a launderette with washing machines and dryers. Free wifi is available. Barbecues and campfires are allowed. Activities such as walking, hiking, river swimming, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, bouldering, via ferrata and more are available nearby in the surrounding canyons and waterways, and paragliding and bungee jumping are available in Millau where there are heaps of other activities, attractions, shops and restaurants too. There are also lots of options for fly- and course-fishing in the Aveyron region, which is home to over 8,700km of rivers and streams and lakes that cover more than 3,000 hectares.

If you’re after a more sedate holiday, there are lots of options for fly- and course-fishing in the Aveyron area, home to more than 8,700 kilometres of rivers and streams, and to lakes that cover more than 3,000 hectares. At Les Bords, you’re close to loads of stunning villages that are worth visiting and exploring – make the trip to the scenic Liaucous, Le Rozier and Mostuéjouls, all within two kilometres of the site, for pretty buildings and ‘Gram-worthy shots. Slightly further afield, go from tiny to huge: visit the city of insects at Micropolis, sniff out the cheese cellars in the Roquefort caves and make your way to the observatory at the top of Mont Aigoual, the highest peak in Cévennes National Park, for unparalleled views over the countryside and towards the Mediterranean.
