  • Quiet family-run site a short walk from the Tarn river
  • A kilometre from the town centre of Millau
  • Pool, free wifi and bar with terrace
Set in green and quiet surrounds a short walk from the Tarn river – but only a kilometre from the old and foodie town of Millau in Aveyron and in the Grands Causses Natural Regional Park: gourmet, river, outdoor and countryside fans, this site is a tiptop pick. Take the scenic cycle path the short ride to Millau to fully investigate its foodie history via its many restaurants and its weekly gourmet night market, and to see famed places in and around town such as the museums, medieval buildings and the Millau Viaduct, the tallest bridge in the world at 343 metres. More history – and cuisine – is at the cheesy central of the Roquefort caves a short drive away. If you just want to relax at base, this quiet family-run park is well set up for it, with an outdoor pool, open as soon as weather allows; a bar with an outdoor terrace, and a pétanque court. There's also a playground shaded by leafy tall trees. Free wifi is available throughout the site.

Local attractions

Food, food and heaps more food… dive into the culinary tradition of the region with enthusiastic samples of the local marzipan, the Limousine cherry dessert clafoutis, the butter and hazelnut cake creusois, and the fab and filling farcidure, a mix of grated and mashed potatoes, garlic and parsley. And if you're now prodding your podge after several days' worth of fully delving into Millau and Roquefort cuisine? This area is famed for its outdoor options too, so get active with some canoeing, paragliding, rock climbing, hiking and cycling on and around the Tarn and the Grands Causses Natural Regional Park. Another heady option around the region is the limestone outcrop of Montpellier-le-Vieux, high up from Millau in the national park. Five trails leading between carved natural structures are around here to explore; if you'd rather not walk, a tourist train takes the curious to the main viewpoints.
