It's free, quick and easy!
- Riverside site with a beach three kilometres from the centre of Millau
- A five-minute drive to Gorges de la Dourbie; half an hour to Larzac
- Outdoor swimming pool and a private riverside beach to swim and fish
With a stay at Camping Saint Lambert, you’ll be signing up for days spent bathing in the Dourbie river, relaxing by the outdoor pool or exploring the many gorges, limestone caves and cheese cellars of the Midi-Pyrénées region.
This dog-friendly site doesn’t disappoint for fans of the water, that’s for certain… It spreads out over more than three and a half hectares next to the the clear waters of the Dourbie river and there’s a large private beach for sunbathing, swimming and fishing (good fishing too – it’s a first-category river). If you prefer your water to less wild, take a dip in the outdoor pool instead.
Time away from the water? That can be spent playing pétanque, watching over the kids at the play area or hanging out at the games room. As for other amenities, all the essentials are covered including a launderette, a washing-up area, wifi and bathrooms with disabled access.
Surrounded by soaring cliffs, the calm natural setting is very much designed for guests to unwind. Still, civilisation isn’t far away at all, as the centre of Millau is 40 minutes’ walk away (or a five-minute drive) for shops, restaurants and various other amenities. Meanwhile, the Viaduc de Millau (25 minutes’ drive away) is worth a visit too – this viaduct is higher than the Eiffel Tower and it’s the world’s tallest bridge.
Outdoor fans will be well-positioned here too, as Millau is known as a hub of outdoor sports. Take your pick from canoeing, paragliding, mountain biking, via ferrata climbing, canyoning, caving, hiking, bungee jumping…

Local attractions
Some of the hotspots for outdoor activities nearby include Gorges de la Dourbie (five minutes’ drive), where you can hike between villages, the limestone karst plateau of Larzac (half an hour), and Gorges de la Jonte (45 minutes), a popular hiking and climbing area. The Gorges du Tarn (35 minutes), the longest and deepest canyon in Europe, is certainly worth a visit too.
The limestone territory has also led to the creation of several caves that you can visit, including the rosy-coloured Grotte De Dargilan (40 minutes) and Aven Armand (55 minutes). Also underground are the cheese caves of Roquefort-sur-Soulzon (half an hour), where you can take tours and sample the strong blue cheeses. After that, maybe it’s time to sip white Burgundy wines at the wineries around Saint-Véran (25 minutes).
For other days out, try Micropolis Cité des Insectes (25 minutes), visit the pretty village of Cantobre (half an hour) or set off to Montpellier (an hour and 20 minutes) for some time on a Mediterranean beach.
