Huttopia Camping Millau is a splendidly set site, in the huge and spectacular landscape of the Grands Causses Natural Regional Park, among forests and peaks, valleys, castles and craggy limestone (French holiday plans at any stage of ones life should surely include a trip to this national park). You'll be within easy reach of the Tarn gorges from here, as well as the Cévennes mountains, the Roquefort caves, the Millau Viaduct, and meandering walking and hiking trails. Local attractions
Camping Millau is in the Grands Causses Natural Regional Park and, in a spectacular countryside location hailed for its hiking and cycling trails as well as world-famed attractions like the Gorges du Tarn and the Roquefort caves. Canoeing and fishing are easily available in the Tarn and Dourbie rivers, below the site.
Loads of photo opportunities are around for those who like to lurk with cameras while on hols: try the Larzac plateau and its foothills, the peaks of the Cévennes, the Knights Templar town of La Couvertoirade, and the Millau Viaduct, the tallest bridge in the world at 343 metres high.
From Millau, the limestone outcrop of Montpellier-le-Vieux is well worth a hiking and photography trip, along its five trails between rocky structures; take the tourist train to the viewpoints if you can't be faffed with the climb.
You should also take your camera or your curious self for at least a day in Millau, home of handsome old buildings, a comely glove museum, and famed traditional cuisine like Millau marzipan, creusois cake and clafoutis, the Limousine cherry dessert. If your sense of adventure is whetted while around these outdoorsy parts, Millau is the main centre in France for paragliding, so buckle up and off you go.
