- Unusual rural accommodation in the Millevaches Regional Nature Park
- A 25-minute drive to Aubusson; 50 minutes to the Millevaches Plateau
- Natural swimming pool, shared kitchen, private gardens and billiards
If you’re looking to get far, far away from the daily grind but not really wanting to put up a tent, Voyage Spatio-Temporel in the Limousin region might be a handy base for you. Peacefully set on a former farm in Millevaches Regional Nature Park, the site has family-friendly accommodation units ready and waiting for you to arrive.
Five minutes’ drive from the sleepy village of Poussanges in the department of Creuse, the site is designed for chilling and unwinding. Take a dip in the natural pool, laze in the hot tub or have an amble around the woodlands and gardens.
No need to worry about planning breakfast either – that comes as part of the deal. Rustle up enough energy for a barbecue (pick up supplies in Felletin supermarkets, 15 minutes’ drive) or cook a family supper in the shared kitchen. On clear nights, get together at your private pitch to watch the stars glinting in the skies far above.
By day, challenge the kids to archery sessions or play billiards. There’s no pressure to do anything too strenuous if you don’t fancy it, but should you feel like exploring on two wheels, bikes are available on site. Voyage Spatio-Temporel is also the springboard for hiking in Millevaches Regional Nature Park.

Local attractions
In the foothills of the Massif Central, Millevaches Regional Nature Park is a land of waterfalls, protected peat bog and dramatic gorges. Follow the three-hour On the Granite Trail to explore the Millevaches Plateau (50 minutes’ drive), go swimming, fishing or boating on Lake Vassivière (55 minutes), or find out about the geology of the park in the House of Granite at Bugeat (50 minutes).
For a change of pace, lovely old towns warranting a visit include Aubusson (25 minutes), with half-timbered houses edging the River Creuse. Learn about the tapestry-making heritage that put Aubusson on the map at the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie, where you can see colourful classic or contemporary examples of the craft and join weaving workshops.
Medieval Égletons (an hour) is a walled town overlooked by the ruins of the hilltop Castle Ventadour, and with displays of armour and weaponry in the Centre de Découverte du Moyen Age. Another historic masterpiece is the 13th-century Église de Saint-Georges Nigremont (15 minutes) and its Romanesque bell tower, worth a detour for its views alone over the Creuse department alone.
