  • Well-equipped site in the Dordogne by the shores of Neuvic lake
  • Summer trips to Rocamadour, Padirac, the Puy de Dôme and Vulcania
  • Fishing, private beach, playground, restaurant and bar
Aquitaine, anyone? And the Dordogne, a lakeside location, a private beach, and watersports all the day long? If your sensible answer is an enthusiastic oui, make Camping Le Port de Neuvic your waterside port of call. The site is by the shores of Neuvic lake or the Lac de la Triouzoune, 410 hectares of clear, clean and award-winning waters with watersports centres and lifeguarded swimming in summer... and fishing areas, boat trips, two nine-hole golf courses, and electric bike hire for lakeside exploring. If you say 'pah' to any such activity, have idle times instead at the site's own sandy and gently sloping beach, reserved exclusively for site guests, or around the park's leafy grounds and sea views. Camping Le Port de Neuvic is a few minutes' drive from the Dordogne town of Neuvic and its botanical gardens, between the Millevaches/Limousin and the Auvergne Volcanoes regional natural parks, the biggest in Europe. Trips to famed regional highlights like the Puy de Dôme and the Vulcania theme park are arranged in July and August by the site team. Bar theme nights, pétanque competitions and a July and August kids' club are among the hefty entertainment programme offered to guests. There's fishing on site too, a beach playground with inflatables, and a restaurant to keep everyone fully fuelled for their lakeside or Dordogne days.

Local attractions

Sailing, boating, motorboating, canoeing and paddleboarding are among the watery pursuits available on the lake, along with mountain bike rental, cycle paths and hiking. Local town Neuvic (about 15 minutes' pedal or a few minutes' drive from the site) is home to a 16th-century castle on the banks of the Isle, with Renaissance rooms, murals and botanical gardens. Tours run twice a day in July and August, except on weekends. Set off on an organised excursion from the site to venture further afield, or drive there under your own steam for a day trip: highly recommended destinations include the mighty Puy de Dôme volcano, one of the most visited sites in the Auvergne region, an hour and 10 minutes away; volcano theme park Vulcania, within an hour; and the cliffside village of Rocamadour and the Padirac chasm, each an hour and 50 minutes away.
