Recharge your batteries, refresh and rejuvenate… touch down at Camping La Pinède, where the wellness centre should help to loosen any stiff muscles ready for the many activities on site. In Calvi on the sandy Corsica coast, a 25-minute drive from L'Île-Rousse, this family-friendly site is packed with outdoor pools and a water park, miniature golf course, and outdoor playground for some good family fun.
The action isn’t all on site though – there’s silky golden sand on the beach 200 metres away and a 10-minute drive or 35-minute stroll will take you to the 13th-century walled fortress that stands guard over the Calvi marina.
To find your zen, look inwards with some on-site yoga and meditation classes or while away the time in the on-site hammam and sauna, with massages available too. Families can build team spirit with a game of football, table tennis, beach volleyball or pétanque. Or, you could stretch your limbs in a different fashion with a game of laser tag, pony rides, or a plunge down the cannon slide in the water park. Balloons, tennis courts and trees for climbing are all at your disposal.
With a food shop and the Carpe Diem restaurant on site (with disco and Corsican tunes), you’ll certainly be able to seize the day with a belly full of food. Handily, there are also plenty of restaurants and bars to take advantage of along the promenade, a five-minute drive away.

Local attractions
The Citadelle de Calvi (10 minutes’ drive) is sure to be your first port of call for a holiday in Calvi. It’s hard to miss the imposing clifftop fortress peering out over the town. For another trip down memory lane, the ancient ruins at the abandoned Village d’Occi have more commanding seaside views. Nearby, the village of Calenzana (15 minutes) has old churches and chapels or a mythical hiking trail to choose from, too.
For your next venture, look towards the sea. Tackle the waves by hiring a jet ski (five minutes to the nearest rental) or set sail from Calvi Marina (10 minutes). Perhaps you might want to touch the ocean’s bottom with a dive or sail down south to Scandola Nature Reserve for some wildlife spotting.
Inland, the Bonifato forest and the Figarella river (25 minutes) is a forest and river expedition with views over the bay. Make the most of the great outdoors with canyoning in Fango Valley (30 minutes) or quad biking or hiking along the Revellata peninsula (20 minutes).
