Desert from the restaurant seating area overlooking the lake really pretty and food was amazing

Liked: The pitches were big and you could choose which one you wanted. The location is good, especially if you are in a motorhome. Chateauroux town centre is an easy walk, there is an excellent restaurant more or less on site and there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities.

Disliked: There is a shower block that can only be accessed with a wrist band and as such its use is restricted to so many times per stay. The cleanliness of the big shower and toilet block leaves a lot to be desired.

Liked: De broodjes service en de douches (niet die tegenover de balie) en het retractiepark er om heen. Er was ook bewaking op het park wat goed zijn werk deed. Er zat ook een goed restaurant om de hoek, waar we heerlijk hebben gegeten.

Disliked: Het personeel achter de balie was niet heel pro-actief, maar ze hielpen je wel goed als je het en vraag had. Jammer dat het recreatie meer dicht was en het aangeboden golf slagbad alleen een kleine stroming in het water had en 2 gesloten baden!

Liked: A good selection of flat shaded and open pitches with good separation, we were able to choose our own. Park with lake and Guinguette next door. Easy access to A20 and to Châteauroux on foot.

Disliked: Sanitary facilities, although plentiful, were a bit tired and could have been cleaner.

Liked: Great location and easy to either cycle up the road or walk through the parks, to the town (about a mile). Plenty of showers. Bread and pastries available to order from reception.

Local attractions

To Châteauroux first for some sightseeing and lazing about among the town's old buildings and green spaces… Start off at the tourist office to pick up a guide showing the many old monuments and houses in the town: there are two routes to follow to see most of these, one covering the medieval part to the north and the other focussing on more recent times to the centre's south. Châteauroux also has a popular park, covering 21 hectares of green space, gardens and walks; and Belle-Isle Lake to the town's north, for watersports, swimming and walking. To the south at Le Poinçonnet is Châteauroux's state forest, home of hiking and biking trails as well as the Haute Touche Zoological Park. From Châteauroux, it's 27 and 28 kilometres to Saint-Chartier and Argenton-sur-Creuse respectively, and about 65 to the famed ZooParc de Beauval, home to almost 6,000 animals living across 30 hectares.

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

Firearms are not permitted.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.

Hired accommodation

No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

Only one car is to be parked at the site. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.

The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

General

The campground/park is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.

Vehicles

The car is only included in the rate if you are traveling with a camper, trailer tent or tent. Cars are not permitted when traveling with a motorhome/RV.

The grocery shop is open between 03/04 and 25/10.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Vehicles

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Admission

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Units will be allocated on arrival.

Visitors

Visitors’ cars are not permitted on site.

Hired accommodation

Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of EUR70.00 ($116.72) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

Additional terms

The wave pool is located 3 kilometres away.

For stays on less than a week, one wave pool entrance per person is given free by the site and for stays of a week and more, two wave pool entrances per week per person are given free by the site. A preferential rate of €2.20 applies to subsequent pool entrances.
