A trip to the Plitvice Lakes National Park is a very fine thing indeed – its gorgeous lakes, waterfalls, canyons and scenic hiking trails surely make it one of the very prettiest parts of Croatia. And a trip here from Camping Plitvice is an even finer thing: a nifty Kvarner location three kilometres from the park entrance means you can zoom up in there with a couple of minutes’ drive to beat the crowds at opening time. The Smoljanac location comes into its own at the end of your day too: once you’re done with hiking/biking/horse riding/gawping at the scenery, that same very short journey lands you back at the site for a cooling dip in the outdoor pool and a chance to freshen up at the smart bathroom block (which include family-sized bathrooms and laundry facilities). And then it’s on to dinner… there’s a barbecue zone for folk who’d like an evening by the grill, with supplies available at the supermarket two kilometres away. For something rather more swish, take a seat at the site restaurant, where chefs knock up a varied menu of local produce, fresh seafood and family favourites – all of which can be washed down with excellent wines and followed up with indulgent desserts. When not swimming or eating, time on site can be spent with the kids at the playground, playing games at the multisports field, working out at the Crossfit zone or catching evening entertainment in the amphitheatre.

Liked: Bel campeggio, pulito e servito bene in termini di energia elettrica ed acqua, ottimo il ristorante adiacente. Bella piscina che non abbiamo sfruttato poiché il nostro viaggio è stato breve e in un periodo poco caldo.Alla reception gentili e cortesi

Disliked: Do 4 stelle e non 5 perché per motivi personali abbiamo dovuto lasciare il campeggio un giorno prima e non avendo prenotato direttamente sul sito del camping abbiamo comunque pagato le 2 notti prenotate,perché non mi è stato possibile accedere al sito della prenotazione per modificare la data del soggiorno

Liked: Spacious and flat comfortable pitches. Quiet environment and friendly personnel, All the facilities for servicing the camper at one place. Restaurant and swimming pool.Shuttle Servis to reach Plitvice national park.

Disliked: High prices. The water in the shower cold or only slightly warm.

Liked: It was very nice stay. Our pitch was quite big and well equipped. Elekticity, water and also canalization. Toilets and showers was looking good and what is very important it was clean. It was cleaned few times during day. On camping you can find swimming pool what was great for kids. What was important for us was close distance to Plitvice lakes. Camping offer transport to lakes with own shuttle bus. For me stay on Plitvice Camping was very pleasant and I’m glad that I chosen this camping.

Local attractions

To the Plitvice Lakes National Park first, without a doubt… and more than once, if you can manage it. There are several marked trails to follow around the lakes and waterfalls, and rowing boats to hire too – all the scenery is really rather stunning so it’s worth taking your time to see as much as you can. Outside of the park, get views from a different angle at the treetop trails and ziplines of Adrenalin Park Plitvice (20 minutes’ walk), or meet some of the locals at Deer Valley Ranch (10 minutes’ drive), where you can take a tour and feed some of the resident red deer. You might also like to see some of the scenery from below on a tour of Barać Caves (20 minutes) and take a tour of the cute old town of Drežnik (10 minutes).
