With views down to the renowned Golden Horn beach, the stylish safari tents at Abeille Maison Glamping Resort Zlatni Rat, on the scenic Croatian island of Brač, are almost the last word in luxury. Set amid a magnificent landscape of pines, oaks, cypresses and olive trees, chances are there will be little to disturb you here except the song of cicadas.
Relaxation is the watchword at these top-notch tented retreats, each kitted out with a private outdoor pool and spacious decking, with air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable inside the tent, indoor and outdoor showers and spectacular views to the Adriatic Sea.

The local experts in reception will happily arrange walking, cycling and e-bike tours, as well as windsurfing, kiting, diving, snorkelling and fishing from Golden Horn Beach (five minutes’ walk).
The pretty harbour village of Bol (20 minutes) has a tangle of cobbled streets to discover, and lots of pavement cafés for leisurely waterfront coffees while watching boats in the marina. From there, go island-hopping to the trendy neighbouring island of Hvar (half an hour’s boat ride) or stay firmly on dry land and explore Bol’s Renaissance-era Our Lady of Grace church.
Turning inland, see the bizarre rock carvings at Zmajeva špilja (Dragon’s Cave, five minutes’ drive) You can also taste and buy local vintages at Stina Winery (25 minutes’ walk) or sample olive oils at the island’s Olive Oil Museum (40 minutes’ drive).
