- Huge and peaceful sites on a 36-acre rural New South Wales property
- A 20-minute drive to Goulburn; Bungonia National Park 50 minutes
- Overlooking Lake Pejar, with fishing/watersports access close by
‘A labour of love’ is how the owners of Two Little Piggies describe their place – and even a quick look at the pics of this New South Wale property will show you why anyone would surely agree that it’s a setting that’s worth the effort.
In fact, they’re mostly referring to their endeavours in setting up a cattle farm and chestnut orchard, which you’ll pass on the way to the campsites. There are only a couple of sites at this 36-acre site, and they have been left gloriously undeveloped, allowing touring guests to set their space up as they wish (perhaps with a barbecue, a fire pit, camping furniture… or pretty much whatever you feel like bringing…)
However you choose to set your stuff up, the idea here generally is to soak up the rural peace and the stunning views over Lake Pejar. That’s possibly not going to entertain the kids though, so it’s handy that there’s also plenty of open space for them to run about and play games – and dogs can do the same as long as you keep an eye on them. A shower (extra charge) and compost toilet are on hand but otherwise you'll need to bring along
Doing very little other than taking in the scenery may well be your focus around here, but if you’d like a little bit of activity you can head down to the lake’s edge (a minute or so away by car) to fish for bass and trout or launch your non-motorised watersports vessels. Scenic drives and winery tours can also feature on the agenda, and you should certainly stop in at local town Goulburn (20 minutes’ drive) for a bit of shopping.

Local attractions
Start off with a trip into Goulburn (20 minutes’ drive) for a wander on the public art trail, a snap with the statue of The Big Merino and some excellent shopping at independent stores. There’s history here too, in the form of Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre, Goulburn Historic Waterworks Museum and Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum.
Glass of wine to go with your views back on site? See where it’s all made before picking up bottles from the likes of Kingsdale Wines (15 minutes) or Lerida Estate (50 minutes). And if you’d like to see where your food comes from too, stop in at An Alternative Life Learning Centre (50 minutes), to meet chickens and ducks and explore orchards and food gardens.
Immersing yourselves in wild nature is a possibility too – the best place for this is Bungonia National Park (50 minutes), made up of woodlands and craggy limestone cliffs and with activities including hikes, canyoning and caving.
