  • Resort-style holiday park welcoming families, friends and couples
  • Over the bridge from central Merimbula; Tura Beach 10 minutes' drive
  • Three outdoor pools, adventure playground and games room
From whale watching and kayaking in lagoons to cracking open oysters with a can of craft beer, count on some huge adventures from Tween Waters Holiday Park in Merimbula. On the spectacular Fishpen Peninsula, this holiday park has a wide range of tempting accommodation spread out over green surroundings, just over the bridge from Merimbula's lively town centre in splendid New South Wales. This resort-style holiday park is all play, with three solar-heated pools, a big jump pillow, an aquatic play area and a games room with a TV that's great for group movie nights. Yet, there are still essential practical facilities like a shared kitchen and a barbecue area for organising tasty holiday bites. Overlooking the Sapphire Coast, Tween Waters Holiday Park is well-placed for those fond of fishing or savouring the pleasures of a seafront picnic. It's also a short walk down to the nearest beach, where gentle waves sort out amateur surfers with further water action. The town centre (around five minutes' walk) is a hub for fresh seafood, modern Aussie cuisine and nightlife, with plenty of fully-licensed bars and clubs to choose from. Supermarkets and convenience stores are also on hand for when it's time to restock on essentials. Nature fans, meanwhile, are an easy 10-minute drive from the edge of Bournda National Park, an enormous and spectacular protected area with dozens of beaches, coves and lookouts to explore.

Liked: The amenities were really clean, the laundry room had just been redone and the kids had a lot of activities to do around the park. The splash park was the highlight along with the jumping pillow for them. We will definitely be coming back!

Local attractions

Chase after the whales' tails around Bermagui island or submerge yourself for a snorkel with some bouncy seals… Merimbula Marina Ocean Adventure Tours (10 minutes' walk) arrange such activities and boat tours. When you return, it’s easy to re-feed yourself with the fine stuff at Wheeler's Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar (five minutes’ drive) or wash it all down with craft beer, cider, gin (and more oysters) in the Longstocking Brewery (10 minutes). If your journeys out to sea have you interested in the creatures of the big blue, the Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre (20 minutes) and the Eden Killer Whale Museum (20 minutes) are two places to get to know the underwater world better. After some more activities though? Well, get your golf clubs at the ready for Pambula Merimbula Golf Club (five minutes), sign up for some serious thrills at the Magic Mountain Merimbula theme park (five minutes) or make way for Bournda National Park (from 10 minutes) to kayak in the Bournda Lagoon, picnic on Wine Glass Bay or clamber over the clifftops.
