Quarry Park Camping

10

This campground/park does not currently take bookings here on Pitchup.com.

General

  • Family-run Pembrokeshire site with views over the Preseli Hills
  • A 15-minute drive from Haverfordwest; 30 minutes from St Davids
  • Private barbecue area for each pitch with firepit and furniture

If a small-scale, peaceful site deep in the Pembrokeshire countryside wouldn't go amiss, then set your sights on Quarry Park Camping near Haverfordwest. Alongside the well-kept (and very spacious) main pitching field, there's a small woodland here for strolls around the site. Many more top walks can easily be reached on foot – or, if you're after hikes along the Wales Coast Path or up in the Preseli Hills, after a short drive.

Make tracks here if you fancy cooking and eating in the open air – each pitch has a private firepit with barbecue grill and outdoor furniture, with wood, kindling and charcoal handily all available to buy on site. For an extra kick of flavour, feel free to drop by the community herb garden and help yourself. Got leftovers? Fridge-freezers are available for shared use.

This site may have a low-key, back to basics vibe, but it's also home to great facilities like free wifi (at reception), a laundry area and – on the off chance you need protection from the elements – a nifty covered area. There's also a small shop at reception where you can stock up on holiday basics, including free-range eggs and local honey. For more food shops and restaurant options, head 10 minutes down the road to Narbeth.

Dogs are welcome to stay here, but please keep them on their best behaviour at all times.

Quarry Park is a Green Camp Site at its Best13/09/2022

This was the second year we have camped at Quarry Park and it was brilliant once again. Matt and his team have extended the site into the adjacent field to create another Yurt and some tent pitches. From this new field the views are stunning over to the Preseli Hills.
We received a very warm welcome from Matt and had a great family holiday with our son and his family, the grandchildren loved it.

Many thanks and we will return to stay again.

    Disliked:

As the park has grown slightly the demand for showers and toilets in the morning has grown. It was no real hardship but as the park becomes more popular there will be a need to extend the shower/toilet facilities.

We cannot recommend Quarry Park enough. The site itself is stunning - how many campsites do you want to actually spend a day exploring? The pitches are spaced well apart and are huge. There are picnic tables and firepits with them; an easily accessible, clean shower block; washing up area; fridges, and charge points. The views from the site are amazing, and owner Matt is a star: friendly, cheerful, helpful. The stunning Pembrokeshire coast is a short drive away, making Quarry Park an excellent base. We stayed in Thistle Yurt with our 5 year old, and it was the most wonderful experience - it's got all the joys of camping, without any of the hassles! We will absolutely, definitely be going back.

We loved our 4 night stay in Bramble Yurt, which was exactly as shown in the photos. Matt was a friendly, welcoming face on arrival and he gave us a tour of the site. He was accessible by phone if needed and checked we were ok mid break when it rained one evening! Our yurt was spacious, clean, cosy, beatifully and comfortably furnished and even provided slippers and a fabulous 'welcome pack' with delicious local cheeses and welsh cakes amongst other things! The log burner took away the worry of colder nights, but the bedding was warm and comfortable and we only lit the burner once for the experience! In addition to comfortable living quarters, we had our own private 'en suite' toilet & shower room, a covered kitchenette area equipped with gas stove, sink area, portable water & all the basic needs of a kitchen, including a stove top kettle, pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery, not to mention a picnic table in the shelter in case of rain. We also had a private outdooor seating area with patio table and chairs, our own fire pit & bbq kettle. Fridge freezer and charging points were available in the main sheltered area, where there was room to hang wet clothing and towels as well as eat in a more communal area if you so wished. This is where the shared bathroom facilities were too, and all within a minute's easy amble of our yurt. A convenient car park area at the top of the site meant once unloaded the site was traffic free. Despite being bank holiday weekend, the site had a calm, quiet feel, and we took full advantage of star gazing opportunities by a camp fire in the evenings. The honesty shop in reception offered local honey, fresh eggs, local ice cream & a small selection of butchers packs of bacon, sausages & bbq packs - we sampled all of the above and they were fabulous quality! Also firewood was available to purchase, although this was included with our yurt - even better!
Great recycling facilities and ethos too.
The location was fab, easy range of gorgeous beaches as well as St David's city to mention a couple.
Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone. Absolutely fabulous! We will return!

The very spacious pitches surrounded by wild meadow for wildlife
The honesty meat supply from local butchers. Great when didn’t have cash and just had a last minute change of meal. The amount of fridge storage space
How peaceful it was even at maximum capacity, this was a last minute booking as usually avoid busy bank holidays but this wasn’t an issue at all.
How friendly and welcoming Matt was. Took time to say hi and check in on first night and saw regularly so always on hand if needed anything which we didn’t.
We travel with a tent box and Matt was very happy to facilitate this for us despite usual campers using car parking.
The site was so green and lush even after this summer true get away.

Matt was so very welcoming and showed us around all the excellent facilities that Quarry Park has to offer! There were delicious meats from a local butchers that were always available which was a godsend for sleepy campers :)

Toilets and showers were excellent, as was the communal area - communal fridges and some games for little ones, as well as charging points and great washing up facilities. Thank you!

Every pitch comes with a lovely picnic bench and BBQ pit - logs and firelighters were always available for a small fee :)

Perfect location for exploring South Wales.
