  • Well-maintained peaceful rural site 10 minutes' drive from Pembroke
  • Within four miles of Barafundle Bay, Bosherston and Freshwater West
  • Distant sea views and simple facilities; campfires welcome
There are some mighty fine spots around Pembrokeshire – and it has to be said that the folk at Cedar Farm Camping have managed to bag themselves one of those prime positions, within easy reach of some of the county’s most splendid coastal scenery. Getting to this peaceful and pretty part of the world involves driving about 10 minutes from Pembroke, leaving the main roads behind and making your way down some quiet country lanes to find a place that’s all about the rural relaxation (don’t worry if you’re not used to country lanes – they’re perfectly easy to navigate, and staff are always on hand to offer guidance if you get lost among all the greenery…) The rural views from this spot on the edge of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park are generally pure green, but on a clear day you’ll catch glimpses of the sea in the distance. Whether you’ve been treated to that or not, you’ll certainly want to set out to see the sea more closely – and what spectacular beaches you have to choose from, as Freshwater West, Broad Haven South and the utterly gorgeous Barafundle Bay are all within four miles or so. Given the stunning surrounds, you’ll likely be out and about most of the time – and with that in mind the owners have focused on providing a restful place to chill out rather than stacking up lots of unnecessary bits and bobs. That means simply sorting you out with toilets, showers, a water supply and a waste disposal area, and allowing you to spend evenings stoking a barbecue or campfire.

What customers say

Great family campsite with stunning country views and a chilled vibe. Spacious spots, owners are legends, and the barn's a ripper for a feed and a drink. Toilets could be spiffier, and busy during holidays. Perfect base for hitting the beach or exploring the hinterland.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked The space! The freedom! What a place! Truly loved our first time camping here, we were supposed to be elsewhere but that fell through last minute and I'm so glad it did. Plenty of space to pitch up and enjoy our family holiday. The kids loved the swing and the freedom to go around the site as they pleased. The bar was reasonable prices and the food was absolutely fantastic!

Facilities were excellent and the suncream in the gents was very useful for me as a ginger!

We really are coming back for more of the same next year, but this time with a tent that won't break on us after pitching it up...

Disliked I honestly can't think of a single dislike!

Liked Lovely relaxed atmosphere around camp, the Barn was a good option for food and drink.
The location was ideal for exploring the beaches of South Pembrokeshire.

Disliked My only criticism (and it’s more of an observation than criticism) is that I found the site to be much busier this year than in previous years.
I wasn’t surprised as the site is excellent value for money but if the site continues to grow at this rate then the toilet/shower block may need to be expanded.

Liked Small and family friendly, amazing views, owners were fantastic with correcting a problem that occurred, great little bar with pool table and dart board. Food was delicious. Showers and toilets clean, swing and basket ball hoop.

Disliked Could do with maybe more toilets and showers.

Liked This campsite worked so well for us for our recent trip to Pembrokeshire. Had hot nice showers unlike some of the others we looked at closer to the coast. We had 5 in the car so being able to eat food at the barn one evening helped with keeping packing down and was somewhere to play games if it rained in evening. The fridge freezer also helped us a lot. We were also able to leave our tent there to enjoy a day out and collect later on our last day which really helped with the full car issue which was kind of them. Short drive to lots of great places to visit.

Disliked Nothing really. Was a bit further from the coast than some others but we had a car so not really an issue and everywhere was a short drive

Liked Beautiful views and a nice relaxed vibe to the campsite. We enjoyed 9 days staying here. It was a nice relaxed site, left to your own devices and nice to look out at the view rather than be facing other tents. Excellent pizza from the barn and good open spaces. Electric charge points outside the barn were handy for topping up phones in the week and the use of the fridge / freezer was also very useful. We enjoyed the fire pits too.

Disliked The facilities could have been cleaned / topped up more regularly - whilst not an enormous issue, there was often paper towel overflowing from the bins, and toilet roll and paper towel ran out on several of the days in the ladies'.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked It was a really friendly campsite. The owner was really helpful in giving directions to avoid the narrow country lanes, and helping when we arrived late by giving us some bread rolls and milk for breakfast. The barn is lovely and does nice pizzas, and the kids had fun playing on the play area. We had a very pleasant stay!

Disliked The shower facilities

Local attractions

Up for a stroll? It’s a good plan as you can set out on paths very close by to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and wend your way down to the coast itself to see the famed Green Bridge. Down at the coast path you could amble between some of the choice spots along the coast, or choose to settle at one or other. Barafundle Bay (10 minutes’ drive) is the big name around here for its frequent appearances on ‘world’s best beach’ lists, but you should also add in a trip to Broad Haven South, walking down past the huge lily ponds at Bosherston (five minutes) along the way. You may well find the surf waves and beach café at Freshwater West (15 minutes) calling your name too… As well as coast, all trips to these parts should include at least one castle – Pembroke (10 minutes) and lakeside Carew (15 minutes) are your top spots nearby. If you’re here with the nippers, drag them further back in time at the Dinosaur Park (20 minutes).
