  • Small site in Pembrokeshire, less than a mile from Solva harbour
  • A 15-minute walk from a pebbled cove and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • Sea views over countryside from the pitches
Wherever you’re travelling from, it's highly recommended that you arrive at Llanungar Caravan Park and Camping while it’s still light. The reason? Those sunsets. Take a quick browse of the pictures and you’ll see that evenings in this part of west Wales are frequently ridiculously photogenic… But it’s not just the sunsets that are snapworthy around here – Llanungar is a 15-minute walk from a pebbled cove and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, where you can spend your days rambling for miles between clifftops, enormous beaches, volcanic headlands and quiet coves. If that sounds like too much effort, you’ll be pleased to hear that there are sea views to be had on site, with the added bonus of uninterrupted countryside as a foreground. Walk down into the village of Solva (less than a mile) and it may well be time to get the camera out again, for here you’ll come across one of the prettiest harbours in Wales. This is also likely to be your go-to place for local amenities – it’s got a convenience store, several small shops and a handful of cafés and restaurants (speak nicely to the right people and you can have fresh seafood and shellfish to take back to your pitch).

Liked: A lovely campsite with immaculately clean facilities and fairly reasonable WiFi. The showers were hot and refreshing. We loved that we could just walk into Solva village from the campsite and were right near the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Only a 5 minute drive to St. David's and some lovely restaurants for food. Good size pitch for our campervan and awning.

Disliked: Nothing it was lovely and we would come again.

Liked: Lovely welcome. Very clean facilities and good size pitches. We have three dogs so it was nice to be able to walk them safely, off main roads, so there were plenty of routes for this. Easy access to Solva and coastal paths. Definitely visit again.

Disliked: I just don't like additional charges for each dog....£42 for the week.!! Nothing provided for them.. so why.?

Liked: What a lovely, calm and peaceful campsite which would would definitely return to. The owners were so lovely and helpful. I had a bit of a baby brain moment and couldn’t make the tumble dryer work and so she came and helped me! She also suggested a couple of nice walks we could take our toddler on. All facilities were kept clean and tidy. They let us borrow some levellers for the van as we were on a slight slope. We would definitely go back!

Liked: Stayed one night in our VW Camper in the Paddock, which was peaceful and quiet. Nice walk from the farm into Solva avoiding the main road. Decent campsite with clean amenities. Would recommend only as a stopover, not as a destination.

Disliked: Advertises Wi-Fi but signal strength was awful even when sat beside the router.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for the review, we really appreciate your comments and the recommendation to friends. Its disappointing to read you would only recommend as a stopover, our location within the beautiful area of the National Park, and close proximity to the Coastal Path, offers so much more to explore, which is perhaps why our returning customers choose us specifically as a destination, and not just a stopover. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Local attractions

There are natural attractions galore in this part of Pembrokeshire, to be explored at paces ranging from laidback to adrenaline-fuelled. The small cove of Porth y Rhaw is 15 minutes away on foot and pebbly Gwadn beach a few minutes’ by car from the site. For something on a grander scale, head five miles east to Newgale or west to Whitesands Bay, for swathes of sandy beach and some of the best surfing in Wales. Pembrokeshire is the home of coasteering, a mix of walking, wild swimming, cliff jumping and climbing for the headily adventurous: organise these trips, along with sea kayaking, climbing, paddleboarding and surf lessons two miles away in St Davids. Less than a mile from Llanungar is the little fishing village of Solva, whose harbour has grown around a natural coastal inlet. Rows of colourful houses, shops and restaurants lead to it, where you can sit in a café and watch the boats going about their business. At high tide, there’s crabbing to be done here too, but if you’ve not caught enough for dinner you can buy fresh seafood from the village shop.
