Cresselly Camping: The site's field on the opposite side of the road to the farmstead

General

  • Maintained grass site set in a peaceful
  • A five-minute drive from the closest beach and 15 minutes from Tenby
  • Pubs, restaurants and shops nearby; barbecues and firepits allowed

Peachy beaches, stone castles and alpaca treks might already be on your watchlist, but if not, Cresselly Camping is well-based for all sorts of Pembrokeshire activities from breezy beach days to rural wanders or mountain biking, fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing. You see, this friendly family-run site is within walking distance of the closest beach and 15 minutes’ drive away from Tenby and Carew Castle and Tidal Mill.

Part of a South Pembrokeshire small sheep farm, the site is peacefully rural with sublime scenery and plentiful walks but it’s also a prime place to get out to attractions full of pep. There are 11 acres on site – plenty of space for kids and well-behaved dogs to play (as long as dogs are cleaned up after) – and basic facilities including portaloos, drinking water and waste disposal.

You’ll be able to feel out the local fodder from here, as there are several pubs within 10 minutes’ drive of the site, including a country pub serving fresh pizza in Milton. Here, the local farm shop sells fresh milk via a vending machine, while Kilgetty (20 minutes' drive) has a supermarket, chemist, post office and several food places.

Meanwhile, Broadmoor (15 minutes) has a Thai takeaway and those of you who don’t mind a little longer journey may want to browse Saundersfoot's (20 minutes) speel of beach hut shops and eateries or the bigger supermarkets in Pembroke Dock (20 minutes) – here, you’ll surely find something to stick on a barbecue or firepit back on site.

Great location. Close to local attractions plus stunning beaches
    Huge pitches
Lots of space for children to play
    Facilities spotlessly clean.
Dark skies, perfect for star gazing

Grass a little too long in some places.
We unfortunately pitched the opposite side of the field to the water tap.

Was a little apprehensive as this was our first 'Wild' camping trip, Judith and Andrew are really great and every little query I had was answered and dealt with very quickly. On arrival I couldn't believe the size on the pitch, the layout gave you plenty of privacy from other campers.

The location was central to all the places we wanted to visit.

We hired a firepit for 2 nights and the logs left were ample for what was needed.

The toilets were always well stocked and very clean, no nasty niffs here......

Well done guys, hopefully we will see you next year!

Great location - located very close (10-15 minutes drive) to a handful of beaches, wildlife park, farm, trampoline, theme park, water park, various castles etc. , yet still very quiet beautiful location with easy access from motorway.
Friendly hosts - very helpful in recommending the local attractions and best beaches but also practical issues, like the closest place to buy a gas bottle. Also offered a marshmallow roasting kit and firepit, which was a huge hit for the little ones as well as for the not so little ones.

Huge area - the field extends almost as far as the eye can see. There is a large distance between pitches. Very level and freshly mown. Nice views. Wake to the sound of horses' hooves on the lane or lambs and sheep baaing in the next field. Toilets exceptionally clean. Judith very helpful and provided excellent BBQ and wood for cooking. Very attentive.

Very well located. Great pubs nearby in Lawrenny, Carew, Broadhaven.

One of the best sites I have stayed at. Liked it so much stayed an extra night.
