  • Scenic site overlooking St Brides Bay
  • Working farm set in open countryside, with on-site farm shop
  • Coarse fishing lake within easy driving distance
Plenty of mighty pretty places are in Pembrokeshire. And one of the county's prettiest is St Brides Bay, the mouth of water and coast from Skomer to Ramsey islands – it's part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and has a few Sites of Special Scientific Interest thrown in to boot. Overlooking this pretty lot is Nolton Cross Caravan Park, a mile and a half inland from the hamlet of Nolton Haven, and set in open countryside as part of a working farm. The kids have plenty of space for ball games on site as well as a play area that's centrally situated to all areas so they can play safely and parents can have peace. A coarse fishing lake with views towards the Preseli Hills is about 500 metres from the park: perhaps unsurprisingly, this vista is mighty pretty too. Fancy some splendid food to go with your splendid views? Owners Emily and Simon run a farm shop on site inspired by the 'gate to plate' philosophy: that means home-reared beef along with other local produce with low food miles.

Power optional grass site

Liked: Gorgeous countryside views with cows & chickens in the field opposite! Might not be for everyone but with earplugs, you won’t get woken up too early. Excellent location & wonderful produce at the farm shop too.

Disliked: Showers & toilets are overdue an upgrade but we still got hot water every time & they were perfectly adequate for us.

Power optional grass site

Liked: Location , lovely spot to tour around. Tidy site with small shop.

Disliked: Washing / toiletries facilities. The facilities for showers and washing up to far away for a family. Toilets were near but small again not ideal for families. No room within the shower block to dry children unless using the floor near the urinals .

Local attractions

As already mentioned, St Brides Bay is mighty pretty – and both it and Pembrokeshire in general have a mighty bit to do too. The sandy beaches and watersports of Newgale, Broad Haven and Whitesands Bay are all within easy reach, as is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (a coastal bus runs daily in summer for those who don't want to walk). Skomer, Ramsey and Caldey islands are a bit of a must if you're in this part of the world: reach Ramsey from St Davids, Caldey from Tenby, and Skomer from Dale and Martins Haven. Also nearby are St Davids Cathedral and the Bishops Palace, Oakwood Leisure Park, Folly Farm and the country parks of Llysyfran and Scolton Manor. Horse riding, surfing and fishing are all available within three miles.
