Set in a peaceful rural setting by the river Dulas, Down By The River is a relaxing woodland haven located among the pretty hills of Carmarthenshire. The owners describe it as 'a place where Nature has her way', and when you step out among the trees and meadows that surround the pitches you'll quickly see why. The furnished bell tents on offer here come with cosy interiors, luxurious bedding and pretty fairy lights. Each one has plenty of privacy and an outside area complete with a picnic bench, while a colourful covered camp kitchen and food prep area is on hand just a short distance away. Here, you have handy amenities including a large table with benches, plenty of solar lighting, a double gas burner, two barbecues and all the pots and pans you could need. A separate kitchenette with a fridge, toaster, microwave and electric charging points is also available next door. In the evening, relax around the central firepit (wrapping up in one of the site's outdoor blankets if it starts to get chilly) and tell stories, cook over the flames or gaze up at the night sky. The pleasant town of Llandeilo is about a 10-minute drive away if you need to stock up on essentials or want to visit the pub, but the site also sells seasonal free-range pork, home-grown fruit and veg and free-range eggs.
