Facilities

  • Peaceful site 10 minutes' drive from Newcastle Emlyn
  • Half an hour's drive from the coast for walks, beaches and activities
  • Pizza evenings, kids' crafts, play area, footgolf and shop on site
What draws you to west Wales? Beaches, perhaps? Leisurely days walking on quiet rural trails or active ones by the coast? Charging around the area’s many castles, maybe, or days out at the theme parks and other family-friendly attractions around these parts? Settle in for a stay at Firecrest Valley Camping and Glamping and you get to pick and choose whichever combination suits your style. All the above options are within easy reach of this peaceful place in the Teifi Valley, 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle Emlyn. (Even better news: if days out have exhausted your energies, there’s a pub just 10 minutes' walk away from the site for restorative pints and grub). Life on site is pretty peaceful – there’s plenty of space, including a play area for kids to explore, a footgolf course and a kids' craft area. To pick up the basics or some ice cream, head to the small on-site shop. For cooking, there is a shared kitchen and stretch tent with undercover seating. Expect excellent views and some wildlife to spot (including the resident red kites). This is an eco-friendly site with eco toilets and hot showers. Canine pals are welcomed on site too, and can dash about at the designated dog-walking area.

Local attractions

There are plenty of places to stretch your legs around here: trot out from Firecrest Valley to amble along the banks of the Teifi river, or take a 15-minute drive for a wander round Cenarth Falls (where you might spot leaping salmon in season). For sea-view strolls, it’ll take you around 25 minutes to drive to Aberporth to pick up the Wales Coast Path (although it’s possible you may decide to settle on the beach here instead). That stretch of coast is quite the hub for active options, too – sea kayaking, paddleboarding and coasteering are popular picks, as is cantering through the surf on horseback. If it’s something less strenuous you seek, maybe try a dolphin-spotting boat trip from Gwbert, 40 minutes away. On dry land, there are castles to conquer (Cardigan and Cilgerran castles are both about half an hour away) and plenty of kid-friendly days out including Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo and the Blue Lagoon Water Park, all of which are within an hour’s drive.
