  • Park on the banks of the River Teifi in the village of Cenarth
  • A five-minute walk from salmon fishing at famed Cenarth Falls
  • River strolls straight from site; Newcastle Emlyn a five-minute drive
For a trip taking in a true spectacle of nature, try out Argoed Meadow Camping and Caravan Park on the banks of the River Teifi – this site’s in a peaceful area less than a five-minute walk from the famed spot where salmon leap up Cenarth Falls when ready to spawn. (These acrobatic fish are best seen in September and October, so bring a rod and your angling licence for a chance to catch a couple if you’re strolling around south Wales in autumn…) Outside these months, roam along the riverside to take in Cenarth village’s 200-year-old bridge and 17th-century flour mill with its cast iron and timber wheel. A handful of craft shops and a well-stocked food store are here too, while the artisanal eats of Caws Cenarth Cheese are a 10-minute drive away. To browse at a bigger town, Newcastle Emlyn is just over five minutes away by car: head here for a farmers’ market and cafés, plus the ruins of a castle and a nearby leisure centre with indoor pool. Fancy a splash about in the open air instead? Beaches are less than 25 minutes in the car from Argoed Meadow Camping and Caravan Park, including Aberporth (20 minutes) – venture towards Poppit Sands too, a little way past from where the Teifi flows into Carmarthen’s estuary and out to sea. Aberteifi's golf club is just across the bay (and also a 25-minute drive from the site) if you’re looking to practise your putts. The site has a purpose-built toilet – a winner of the Loo of the Year Awards – and a shower block including facilities for people with disabilities. There's also a laundry room, shared freezer, water taps, Calor Gas bottles for sale and a chemical toilet disposal point. Dogs are allowed but need to be kept on a lead.

Liked: Fantastic site the toilet and shower block were very looked after and had won a platinum loo award for 2024. Place to wash dishes was very clean with a bin by the side for food waste. Recycling bins were excellent on site for cans, bottles, card, plastic and general waste - all bins placed behind a fence. Pitch was a very good size with grass and hardstanding . This was our first outing in our new VW campervan and we enjoyed every second. The site is within walking distance to the village where there a couple of pubs and a very well stocked garage shop. Hearing the sound of the river Teifi behind us added to the peaceful setting . Will definitely return again.

Powered grass caravan site

Liked: What a gem of a fin, so close to popular Cenarth falls (literally) a stones throw, fantastic pitches right on the river bank, great amenities and very friendly and welcoming host. Static sites being developed and maybe available, which would make a fantastic home from home. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for having us. X

Liked: Argoed Meadow, is a great place to stay with really clean facilities and good pressure on the showers. Plenty of room for the kids to run around. We always face our caravan nose in so we are over looking the river. Rita the owner is fantastic, any problems just give her a call.

Powered grass caravan site

Liked: Beautiful pitches at the riverside, very spacious and with a great view. Also very near the small village with two pubs and a tearoom, as well as the very impressive waterfalls of Cenarth. Very friendly owner who lives just outside the camping on a farm from where she can see everything on the campsite, which is a nice idea

Disliked: The toilet building is only accesible with a key so you have to always remember to take that with you.

Powered grass caravan site

Liked: Lovely well kept site on banks of Teifi River, saw kingfisher and otter! Spotlessly clean showers and toilet block. Highly recommended!

Disliked: There could be a better way to return toilet key when leaving, perhaps a locked box on wall at gate, seems to work for club sites!

Local attractions

If you’re not so fond of fishing, other water-based activities are to be had from this site as well: knock about The National Coracle Centre At Cenarth Falls (five minutes' walk) to find out about the local link with these unusual rounded boats, glimpsing crafts from as far away as Tibet and Vietnam. Rather get out into the local landscape? The Dyfed Riding Centre is 20 minutes’ drive away for trots on horseback; for explores using your own two feet instead, head to Cardigan Bay (20 minutes) and keep your eyes peeled for the dolphins and porpoises who call this coast home. Cardigan Castle, one of the 100 or so left standing in Wales, is in this estuary town as well. If older kids are clamouring for rides instead of ruins, try the people-pleasing Megafobia rollercoaster at Oakwood Theme Park (45 minutes' drive). Younger members of your pack might prefer the animals at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (also 45 minutes).
