  • Adults-only farm site in the Brecon Beacons with stunning rural views
  • A 10-minute drive to Pontypool; 20 minutes to Llandegfedd Reservoir
  • Working farm with cattle, sheep and pigs; campfires permitted
Away to the Brecon Beacons National Park with a plan to tackle a mountain or few? Monmouthshire site Court Bleddyn Farm is 10 minutes’ drive away from Pontypool and in a handy position for getting out to the likes of the Sugar Loaf, Skirrid and Blorenge. And it also happens to be on the route of the Cambrian Way for those seeking stopovers on long-distance treks. Don’t worry if all the talk of mountains and multi-day walks sounds like not your kind of thing… you can also head here for some splendid seclusion, simply putting your feet up to enjoy the great views over the Little Mountain and Vale of Usk or watching the farm’s cattle, sheep and Tamworth pigs going about their daily business. Plan your days however you wish, then head back to the site for a relaxed alfresco evening: it’s all very laidback here, with campfires and barbecues allowed and simple facilities in the form of a shower, toilet block, portable toilets and a washing-up area. The nearest small supermarket is five minutes’ drive away, and there are more options for eating and shopping in Pontypool.

Liked: Beautiful location. We loved looking around the farm and we were even given a tour of the pigs and their new borns. We felt very welcome but also left to our own devices to explore and take in the views.

Liked: Beautiful camping location run by the most delightful couple. It's simple camping but that's the best kind. If I pass this way again, I will definitely stay here again.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked: -working farm on site with pigs, cows, chickens, horses
-clean and warm shower
-huge field to camp in
-limited number of pitches to keep the quiet and secluded vibe to it
-really friendly and welcoming owners
-is on the Cambrian Way trail, so you can walk from the site northwards without needing to drive anywhere

Disliked: -a group booking arrived in the field saturday night and played music until 3am. They were even singing and shouting. Couldn't sleep at all. Perhaps it needs to be made clearer on arrival that the site is meant to be quiet and peaceful, not a party site? No music or loud noise after 9-10pm perhaps?
-bright farm yard security night shone into the field all night, right on our tent. Perhaps we were in an unfortunate spot.
-tent pitching sites aren't all flat. So I suggest a bit of trial and error with lying down before putting the pegs in!
