Madoc Lake fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site (waterside)
Liked: Beautiful site with lovely lakes lovely bar area spaced out pitches with electric water and waste water we was on madic lake not all pitches fully serviced
Disliked: This site could be perfect but needs some things doing to make it use able really . No bins in touring areas up by fully serviced pitches. And the bins they had behind the restaurant area were overflowing terribly . No washing up facilities which at these prices it needs . No eslan point The shower block needs finishing ASAP as the porta loos are not getting cleaned . The hardstanding area on pitch is solid concrete under stones so was unable to put awning on it as couldn't get pegs through it had to move over to grass which is not level so a bit pointless having the awning area which is unusable for an awning

From the manager: Hi Krysia We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. There are no bins in the touring area due to people leaving bags outside of the bins and not actually in them so we removed them, there are three industrial bins and five recycling bins by the cafe, unfortunately people don't recycle as they should which results in the bins getting fuller quicker, we do notify the bin collection as soon as they are full so they can come and empty them. There is a washing up sink round the side of the shower block or you can indeed wash up inside if you were to ask. The porta loos DO get cleaned twice weekly, and checked every morning. We cannot help how people use and leave these. These will be removed once the new shower block is finished, which will be this week. They were put there as some guests prefer not to walk to the other showerblock which is by the cabin. Most guests put their awnings up with just the end of it going onto the grass so they can peg into the grass, leaving the rest of the awning on hard ground if they prefer, or they can have all of the awning on grass which the majority of is not uneven, most guests enjoy having the option, and the size of pitches and spaces between the next pitch more than compensate for this. Thank you

Madoc Lake fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site (waterside)
Liked: What a fantastic time we had with our kids. 1st time here. Stayed on Madoc which is a pleasure lake. Took canoes, paddle boards & RC boats around the lake. Fished in lake trefyn, catching numerous carp. Pitches were a good size with water & hook up on the lake shore. Hot shower block & toilets located yards from pitches. Each pitch had a fire pit and bench/ table. Bar was good & guys working were a great help. Already planning our next stay. 15 mins drive to Wrexham. 30 mins to moel famau.

Liked: The site is very well maintained the pitches are a very good size and far apart. The swimming lake is excellent. The shower block is nearly complete But having fully serviced so showered in the van. The bar is one the best I have been to, with its undercover outside seating area. The food is very good the pizza being freshly made to order. They have a variety of food on offer all freshly made. Breakfast also very good value for the money But the star of the show is Tom the owner. Nothing is to much trouble and all done with a large smile.
Disliked: Porterloos

Madoc Lake fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site (waterside)
Liked: Great huge pitches, level with plenty of space around, loads to do onsite with the fishing and paddle boarding lakes and the bar area had live music and pizzas.
Disliked: Lack of bins near pitches and at the moment only porta-loos and 1 shower near to main bar area (but looks like some possibly being built)
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately, with the new recycling laws we have had to monitor the bin situation which is why they are all near the bottom of the site. Yes there is a new shower/toilet block being built, hopefully finish within the next week.
