  • Dog-friendly grass tent pitches on Anglesey with views of Snowdonia
  • A 10-minute drive from the beach and the Newborough nature reserve
  • Barbecues permitted on site; bus stop nearby; pub half an hour’s walk
Pack up your tents and poles and other essential holiday bits, for Campio Andy Camping is a lovely tents-only site in the village of Dwyran on the Isle of Anglesey. It’s likely you will rave about the views here for a long time to come, with Snowdonia in the distance. The local beach is absolutely boast-worthy too: the car park for Ynys Llanddwyn is just 10 minutes’ drive away. Look forward to dog-friendly grass pitches and space for barbecues (but no fires, please). There are grassy fields all around, although the site is also next to a main road with easy access to Niwbwrch (also known as Newborough), which has stepping stones, a great pub and access to walks through a nature reserve. Sleeping right next to a petrol station is always handy; the shop sells a few groceries if you need them. There’s also a bus stop nearby. On site, the facilities are made up of flushable toilets and a cold outdoor shower. Just for guests, the site also arranges private evening falconry demonstrations (weather permitting).

What customers say

Spacious, flat tent pitches with cracking views. Owner Andy's a legend – super friendly, helpful, and knows the local area. Toilets are spotless! Cold showers only, but great value. Perfect base for beaches and sights. A small wash-up sink and better shower privacy would be grouse.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked The host is super friendly and really goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The campsite is clean and located not too far from gorgeous forest and beach. You can even catch stunning mountain views right from your tent. It’s also just a short drive to the transport museum, which is awesome for grabbing a breakfast or lunch. One thing to keep in mind: the shower is outdoors and only has cold water, so maybe pack some extra layers if you’re not into chilly rinses!

Liked Booked an hour before we showed up. Great value for money. Flat field. Great views over mountains. Perfect base for hiking if you want to avoid the business in Llanberis. Owner very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Toilets fabulous cleaned several times a day. Shower basic but it is available

Liked Another cracking stay at Andy’s site. Beautiful views of Snowdonia every morning when we woke up. Clean and tidy toilet facilities. And a refreshing cold shower each day to wake us up! Treated to the usual amazing birds of prey which Andy keeps.

Disliked Nothing to dislike about the site. Storm on our last night was pretty heavy and collapsed one side of our tent 🙈, but all part of the adventure, I guess!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Great location,10 min drive to the beach.Shop nearby .The owner-Andy is very friendly .He gave us a map and explained where to go to see a nice places. Two toilets were clean.I did not use the shower because it was only a cold water and it was raining outside. Good price.

Disliked Cold water only so did not have shower or did not clean the dishes but it was stated in the ad about cold water and no electricity so we knew it before coming .

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely spacious area, so even when there was plenty of others pitched up we still had enough space for each tent, kids had loads of space to run and play, Andy is an absolute pleasure! Friendly and approachable, great with the kids, showed the kids the dogs and his falcon too, ensured everything was alright, around throughout the day and contactable if needed.

Andy goes above and beyond and we truly are very grateful of him for that, during our booking we was on the back-end of a storm and yellow warning for wind, 47 kmh gale winds and our tents began raking a battering, Andy called us as soon as he could to inform us what was happening then went round the field saving and securing as many of the tents that he physically could, thankfully our tent was saved and we managed to see the remainder of the weekend camping.

Lovely little pub a few minutes up the road with food menu too, drinks was reasonably priced. Local shop too.

7 minute drive away from Llanddwyn Beach which is beautiful, fantastic woods to walk and explore around, cost about £2 parking for a few hours,

Water available on site which we found was fine for drinking, cold water shower available but we didn't use this but was there if needed, toilet block was clean and well stocked,

We had a good mobile data signal and was able to get on my the internet and make calls.

Disliked The post code didnt seem to pinpoint the exact place i was going, but Andy has big boards outside with the camps name on so you can see it from the roadside, it is also right next door to a garage which is what we used to follow on sat nav, Ddraig Goch Garage,
