Tŷ Cerrig Glamping: Guests enjoying some peaceful time

General

  • Glamping units with well-equipped kitchens on a quiet Gwynedd park
  • Adults-only site in a wildlife haven with spectacular sunsets
  • Close to the coast path and 15 minutes' drive from Tywyn beach

Sunsets, sea views and heaps of space to breathe – Tŷ Cerrig Glamping could be the kind of place you’d like to keep for yourself. And indeed you almost can, for this Gwynedd glamping site has only a very small number of guests on site and is available to adults only, ensuring next-level peace and quiet for your coastal sojourn.

Take your first look outside in the morning here to watch the first light break over the sea from the comfort of your own cosy bed – if you’re not still contentedly dozing away, that is. A small stash of breakfast bits (eggs, bread, milk and butter) will set you up for your first day; other meals can be cooked up at your own little kitchen (with electric hob, fridge and all the requisite utensils and crockery).

Being west-facing there are often spectacular sunsets to be seen; the peaceful vibe also encourages lots of wildlife including badgers, hares and red kites. Coastal strolls, Snowdonia scrambles and mountain bike trails are nearby for active days, and the sand dunes and surf waves of Tywyn beach are a 15-minute drive away.

Please note

Group bookings of 2 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Everything! Very welcoming place, peaceful & relaxing. Close enough to places like Barmouth so you can explore. Outdoor seating is beautiful, would definitely recommend watching the sunset! Bethan has been superb, given us everything we need including extra eggs for breakfast. The place was lovely and warm, everything you need in there. Especially loved the cheeky chicken sitting with us for our morning coffee! Could have stayed much longer, but we will be back!

Thank you Beth and Chris for a wonderful stay at Ty Cerrig. Such a stunning pitch - it was just what we both needed - peace and quiet, breathtaking views, good walking, solitude and a really marvellous complementary breakfast basket! We have been glamping before but the thoughtful extra touches here made it that more special; the kitchen and shower for own private use, towels and toiletries, comfy chairs and above all the genuinely lovely hosting. I'm missing it already! Can't wait to return!

A stunning, secluded location, beautiful views and a whole field to yourself! The bell tent was spacious and very tastefully decorated with comfortable double bed, chest of drawers table and chairs as well as 2 bedside cabinets. The linen was spotlessly clean and good quality with extra snuggly blankets if needed. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need and more. The breakfast was great quality and plenty of it. The shower was hot and powerful. Beth was friendly and welcoming from the time of booking to after we left. Our first time 'glamping' and I think we have been spoilt! Would highly recommend and would certainly book again. Thank you we have a wonderful weekend!

Local attractions

You’ll surely not be able to resist the call of the sea, so get those boots on and head out for a ramble on the Wales Coast Path, which passes close by on its way around the entire Welsh coastline. Along the way are beaches for all tastes – try Tywyn (15 minutes' drive) for surfing, Tonfanau (10 minutes) for a wilder stretch or Aberdyfi (20 minutes) for three miles of soft sands (with a golf course behind for folks who like a sea view while they swing their clubs).

Set your sights away from the coast and you’re looking at the Snowdonia National Park, where alfresco outings await for all abilities – if you’re up for an adrenaline boost, plot a course up Cadair Idris or head to Coed-y-Brenin Forest Park to hurtle down the trails at its dedicated mountain bike park. Both are about 40 minutes away by car.

Something a little less hair-raising? Perhaps a gentle ramble around Dolgoch Falls (15 minutes away) or a trip to the Centre for Alternative Technology (35 minutes) to poke around various eco projects. Even less active than that, ta? Trot down to Tywyn to join the steam-powered Talyllyn Railway as it puffs its way along seven miles of scenic Snowdonia track.

Must see

  • Rheilffordd Talyllyn Railway (6.4 kilometres)
  • MOMA Wales - Y Tabernacl (17.6 kilometres)
  • CADW - Harlech Castle (24.4 kilometres)

National Trust

  • Plas yn Rhiw (40.5 kilometres)
