  • Spacious site a short drive from Eryri/Snowdonia National Park
  • Within easy reach of beaches, watersports and a mountain railway
  • Barbecues welcome and several supermarkets within easy reach
Seeking a sojourn within easy reach of the smashingly spectacular Eryri/Snowdonia National Park? Close to several splendid beaches and within easy reach by car or bike from several towns for foodie spots and cosy pubs? Treborth Hall Farm Caravan Site should, then, tick off a fair few of your Welsh holiday boxes. This peaceful walled park is a 20-minute walk from the Anglesey Isle town of Menai Bridge, home to several traditional pubs and other eateries for off-site sips and scoffs. You can be in Bangor on your bike in 15 minutes too, or hop in the car and be there in less than 10; highly beau Beaumaris is bikeable too – reach it in a little over half an hour on two wheels, or be there in half the time on four. When it comes to stuff for kids to do, they’ve got reams of room to roam freely around, plus a play area too should they require fun structures to clamber on; for a spot of gentle grownup activity, there's a public footpath just outside that forms a loop connecting to the Wales Coast Path, which in turn provides access to Treborth Botanic Garden. For food on site you’re more than welcome to get a barbecue going – several supermarkets are within easy reach around the nearby towns for all your sizzling supplies, and there are also lots of pubs, restaurants and takeaways too. Among the on-site amenities are toilets and two shower blocks with coin-operated showers with plenty of piping-hot water.

Liked: A really lovely campsite with beautiful surroundings of mountains and beaches, plenty of things to see, do and eat! The campsite itself was very well maintained by the lovely owner Barry, always cleaning, tidying and offering help when needed, a very friendly and welcoming guy! We had a lovely pitch, with toilets and showers when needed, a fab Easter weekend for a first camping trip of the year. Thank you to Barry and the team for a great stay, we will definitely return! Powered grass site

Liked: Well positioned for access to snowdonia.

Disliked: Because of the time of year we expected it to be wet and muddy, so we paid extra to book a hardstanding and grass pitch. It turns out the site hadn't been open for 6 years until recently so the hardstanding had grown grass over it. It was fine to get on and off with the vehicle but you had no choice but to walk on the mud to get in and out of your van. This was made worse by having a dog with us. We're not unrealistic, we know this happens and had we not paid extra for this site, we would have happily lived with this issue. It just didn't feel we got what we paid for.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site (two person)

Liked: LOVED the friendly and super helpful chap running the camp the two days we were there. If he wasn't cracking jokes and advising about routes to climb, he was spending his time helping people pack down and chuck rubbish. I say this in a good way, not in any way too much or imposing or really even visible without him magically hearing your inner thoughts. Cool dude. Suggested to everyone that the party comes to a quiet around 11 which was a good thing. I always love that "everybody knows the bedtime, party then turn in your hat at ... time". Leaves everyone on the same understanding and whatnot. I suspect that if everyone in the field was agreeing they were all going to stay up together then he'd be chill with letting them work it out together. Separating the non electric tents to all the electric types with a good old rock wall is a good move. Wether intentional or not, it prevents too much light for caravans hitting tents and preventing getting to sleep. Plenty of bins space. Never overflowed due to good management. The response to a guest playing crazy loud music suddenly at 4am was quick and welcomed. Eight complaints were made from different groups of campers. There was nobody present onsite but the owner came down and the rude guest was encouraged to leave the following day.

Disliked: The non electric tent camping field was fairly small but not overcrowded. There was a decent sized power pole next to a telegraph pole in the field too. Bit sucky but noiseless. Parking wasn't amazing but about adequate for the people there. More tents, which would easily fit, wouldn't really accommodate more cars. Unfortunately the shower mixer cartridge was faulty (ex plumber) so the showers were either freezing or scolding, nothing in between. A crazy simple fix but not done this time.
