Lower Terrace powered gravel caravan site

Liked: This site is most certainly 5⭐️ the rustic charm is so thought out, the showers, toilets and all facilities are clean. This means my site is situated in a beautiful area with a lovely beach not to far away, we would definitely recommend this site and we will be returning soon.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Lower Terrace powered gravel caravan site

Liked: This is a great, well run small campsite. Lots of information beforehand. Immaculately clean and thoughtfully decorated communal areas. Great to have the woodland walk. Nice rustic communal areas/shelters for those under canvas.

Disliked: For us the pitches on the lower terrace were a bit too close to each other but the other campers didn't bother us at all.

Local attractions

You must get out onto the water in some vessel or other around here, for there's stacks of choice and loads of locations where you can mess around in boats. Aberdovey three miles away is at the mouth of the Dovey river, a popular place for all types of watersports including sailing, windsurfing, yachting, canoeing, paddleboarding, powerboating, kitesurfing and rowing. Dovey Yacht Club and Dovey Rowing Club are in the centre of Aberdovey on the wharf; if you want to give rowing a go, just turn up at the Rowing Club boathouse on the wharf at 10am on a Saturday morning and the members there will be happy to show you the ropes. The Aberdovey harbourmaster is also around for info on the estuary and how to launch and recover your craft if you want to try windsurfing, paddleboarding and canoeing: the long sandy beach is good for launching and recovery, and it’s easy to carry kit from the main car park to the beach. Aberdovey's also a popular base for kitesurfers, who use its beach and large shallow pools to learn to fly their kites, and for sailing in the protected estuary and on the waves of Cardigan Bay. Venturing further afield, Aberdovey is in the centre of Cardigan Bay and so is a nifty base for yacht owners who want to explore the Welsh coast and visit other harbours such as Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, New Quay, Barmouth and Pothmadog, or the ports and marinas of the Llŷn Peninsula.
