Hot tub with scenery

  • Luxury glamping site with hot tubs in the Carno Valley
  • Half an hour’s drive to the edge of the Snowdonia National Park
  • Ensuite shower room for each pitch; local village has a pub and a shop
This luxury getaway is one for the vision board: how might you fancysitting in a steaming hot tub with a glass of bubbly and letting the grazing livestock and birdsong do the honours on the soundtrack? Cwmllwyd Getaways is a peaceful spot alright – within green fields in the Carno Valley, it’s very much tucked away (and rather gorgeous too). That electric hot tub comes with the private outdoor space in each luxurious unit (the owners very much recommend you get that aforementioned bottle of bubbly chilling in the fridge in preparation, but they’re happy to help out with this or any other specific requests). Wifi is also provided. Each unit also has a modern ensuite shower room and large windows to appreciate the views. If you’re lucky, you may spot local farmer Jones – or one of the blue tits responsible for the splendid birdsong outside. At night, make your way outside for some stargazing (in the hot tub or out). The local village, Carno, is a 40-minute walk or a five-minute drive away from Cwmllwyd Getaways. Its claim to fame is that it’s the home of Laura Ashley; the factory still stands in the village. There’s a shop providing a range of groceries, including local produce, beers, wines and other basics, as well as a welcoming pub serving home-cooked food and drinks. A couple of miles off the A470, getting elsewhere is easy too. Source spa days and golfing ranges within 25 minutes’ drive of the site. Gorgeous parts of the rugged Welsh landscape include Snowdonia National Park (from half an hour’s drive), the Brecon Beacons National Park (from an hour and a half) and the Cambrian Mountains (half an hour). Cardigan Bay is also a 50-minute drive to the west. Then again, once you settle into your luxury glamping pitch surrounded by the fields, you might not fancy going too far…

Cefnbrith Carriage shepherd's hut

Liked: We have just spent our 3rd visit to the Shepherd's Hut..July 22, 23, 24.. Changing weather, dark starry nights, rolling hills, our (moheeken mountain) 27 miles to a 5 mile beach walk on a side swipe to old Snowdinia in the background.. Hot Tub!!! Simplicity and nothingness, just a radio..Thank you so much for the continuing memories...
