Liked: This was a wonderfully private, comfortable, peaceful campsite. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay here, and the sound of the nearby river was great to lull us to sleep. It was our first time here - it won't be our last.
Disliked: There's a bit of a hill to walk up/ down when shuttling things from the car to the campsite. It wasn't THAT bad, but I'll definitely minimize more and pack lighter next time.

Liked: The kind of gem you want to tell nobody about so that it stays just as it is, and is a secret treasure. I have to admit however I'd recommend it to anyone! Magical location, right next to the river, owls and woodpeckers galore, plus an elusive sheep. The site is located right next to multiple different footpaths, pretty much at the base of the Sugar Loaf and the Table Top, both of which are lovely walks and feel so special and like they are your own personal hills, with the track going straight from sleeping bag to summit! We arrived by train and bus, and then it's a beautiful walk along the river path from Glangrwyney, past the pub (which looked great although wasn't open during our stay as we arrived on Monday- fair enough). Wasn't too far of a walk, even with heavy bags, 3km-ish, and so pretty you hardly notice the distance. Spectacularly dark at night, really very special feeling with no light pollution at all, and even the solar powered warm cosy lights of the campsite were on some kind of a timer so they dimmed as you got ready to sleep, before turning off. This was such a nice touch! Marc (the site owner) was happy to leave us to our own devices, but always just a message/call away just in case. You have made a great campsite, thank you so much! We very much hope to come back!

Liked: We had a lovely experience, felt completely on our own which is perfect when camping in a “wild camp” setting. Given plenty of wood and Kindling to last the evening and morning. Great location for walks and a short drive to Abergavenny.
Disliked: Best not turn up in the dark as it’s a little walk to the pitch from the car but it was manageable.

Liked: Location was fantastic. Just a few minutes to shops, pubs and restaurants but secluded enough to enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. It was like living in our own wood. Everything we needed was provided or available. Marc checked in to make sure we were ok, and had everything we needed, including enough logs for the night. We loved it there and will definitely return.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Wonderful place despite the weather. Minimal reception, so phones used for essential stuff only - checking the weather forecast.😀😀🤞. Comfy bed, huge tent, well equipped kitchen, only needed sharp knives for cooking, but I take mine when we go away anyway. The dogs loved it, the private field is almost fully enclosed so no need to worry about them. Only possibility of escape is under the gate at the far end unless you have a strong swimmer then maybe up the opposite bank. Firepit was great, we cooked on it as well as sat round it at night. Glad we had a 4WD car as we would had to leave the car at the top. The monsoon conditions did not help.
Disliked: The style out of the field and the one on the other side of the foot bridge are not dog friendly. Always a bit of a pain with big dogs. They both needed lifting over, not something they are happy with.
