  • Welcoming wild camping site in the Brecon Beacons National Park
  • Two miles from a trail up Pen y Fan; Four Waterfalls 30 minutes' drive
  • Meadow pitches with on-site walks; homecooked meals on Friday night
Ca’s Camping is in pole position for anyone keen to get out and about in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, with glorious mountain views right from your tent, this is wild camping in a peaceful, flat meadow on an organic farm with dairy cows, free-range hens and ponies. The dogs get to come on your Welsh adventure too (on leads please), and you can exercise them in the designated 2.5-acre meadow adjoining your camping field, which has a stream running through the middle for family paddles and splashing around. A 10-minute walk in woodland takes you to gorgeous waterfalls on a tributary of the Tarrell river. You can pick up supplies for the barbecue from the handy supermarkets in Brecon (10 minutes’ drive, check out the historic cathedral too), where there are also masses of pubs, fish and chip shops and takeaways for those nights when no one wants to cook. If you're staying on a Friday night, eat on site at 'Ca’s Citchen', where the owner cooks a tasty farmhouse supper (with dessert) made from locally sourced produce. Eat outside under the Ca's Citchen pergola or take your food back to your pitch. On Saturday evenings, weather permitting, guests can also join Ca for a food experience in the woodland near waterfalls. Simple facilities on site include a toilet and shower block (installed for the 2025 season), as well as a washing-up area and rubbish recycling points. An added bonus is the standpipes providing drinking water straight from a spring in the Brecon Beacons.

Unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked: Stunning scenery. Walks from site, so no need to drive. Facilities cleaned twice a day.

Disliked: Only 1 shower and 2 loos, not quite enough for a busy Bank Holiday Saturday night

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Great views, excellent attentive staff, beautiful flat field and they even dug us a fire pit to keep us warm!
Clean toilets that, although just the two, were always kept on to of.

Disliked: Nothing, will come again.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: We loved CA's hospitality, the location and washing up area.

Disliked: The singular shower causes some restrictions when busy, and there is no way to wipe away dirty water that ends up on the floor. In addition, there is a need for more than 1 hook to hang your things. Maybe a high shelf, or more hooks?

In the shower, somewhere to put your washing liquids would also be a good improvement.

Finally, it's not nice to hear / smell people using the toilets while showering.

Liked: Very easy to find, although entrance a little muddy following previous night's rain. Massive field with huge choice of pitches. Very clean facilities. Good dog walks from camp.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Extremely peaceful site in a great location within walking distance of Pen-y-Fan. No frills at all, but that's what you want sometimes. Water was hot and plentiful. Room to spread out away from other guests. Pitches dry and reasonably flat.

Disliked: Toilet / shower facilities are limited - 2 cubicles and one shower was a little congested for the number of guests in April, and will probably be unworkable in summer. There are plans to double those numbers, but even that seems low given the size of the field. Also some small annoyances that could be easily improved (nowhere to put clothes / towels while showering, no light in the washing up station, the washroom light switches off while you're in the shower, etc.)

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: The location was great. As you can see from the photos great view of the mountains not far in the distance. It's also only a short drive/ cycle into Brecon from here.

Disliked: I thought the facilities were a little basic for the price of the stay but it looks like some work is being done to amend this.

While I am fully behind compost toilets this could be implemented a little better than at present.

I didn't use the shower but it seemed pretty clean.
