Local attractions

Ceredigion, one of the last homes of the Welsh language and culture, offers the visitor a truly welcoming and memorable experience. Within a short distance of the Blaenwaun Caravan Park you will find something that appeals to everyone. Try one of the many walks mapped out on Cardiganshire Coast and Country or explore the Ceredigion Coast Path from the path alongside campsite. There are many historical attractions in the area including the Benedictine monastery remains in St. Dogmaels; Cilgerran Castle, Castell Henllys - an archaeological reconstruction of an Iron Age settlement, and the prehistoric burial monuments at Pentre lfan. Cardigan Bay is home to a myriad of marine wildlife. Migrating dolphins can often be seen offshore and there are numerous boat trips offering opportunities to view harbour porpoises, Atlantic grey seals and our resident family of bottled-nosed dolphins. While the rugged cliffs and rarely visited coves of the Ceredigion Heritage Coast, shelter some of Britain rarest birds. The surrounding coast and countryside is also ideal walking country offering a delightful range of walks. Choose from an invigorating walk across wild headlands or a gentle stroll through scenic woodlands. Cardigan and the surrounding area offers a wide range of sporting facilities.
