Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: First impressions of the site are fantastic. Beautifully kept grounds, pond with koi, pretty lodges with lovely views. Very friendly staff and residents. We were really hopeful upon arrival that this site could be a new top ten of ours. Then we were given a map and told where the touring pitches were.......... (see disliked) Disabled facilities were fantastic. Lovely walk off site if you turn right out of the compound. Would definitely return if using a lodge but not in a motorhome. If sites like this don't want tourers I'd rather they didn't have them at all than provide such lacklustre facilities.

Disliked: We followed said map past the picturesque site, through 2 barriers and into a compound with broken fence and cars and vans parked in all sorts of strange configurations (not the owners fault, they had no choice as no parking available beside their caravan pitches). On setting up in this dismal area we discovered we were in a mobile signal dead zone. The WiFi also did not work. No radio signal. No views. We felt we'd been plonked into a bad car park with the kids play area right in the middle. Far too expensive for what we received.

Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: Flat pitch, quiet and clean facilities with friendly staff.

Disliked: Wifi didn't work as pitch was to far away from router. Not sure why the pitch we had was allocated when there were plenty of availble pitches available closer to the facilities. The Toilet -Shower block is cleaned each day at 8.45am and is not available for at least 30 minutes which is when most people want to use it.

Camping pod

Liked: This is my third time staying here. Always get a warm welcome. Stayed in a glamping pod with my dog. The pods are equipped with a fridge and kettle. Also a oil filled radiator if needed. The pods are comfortable and will comfortably sleep 3 people. The location of the site was perfect for me just a few miles south of Aberfoyle. A good 15 to 20 minute drive to loch Lomond. Which is good for me. As you have easy access to Queens Forest. Loch Katrine, Ben Venue and Callander. Also Dunbarton for the major shops. It is a quiet site in a quiet location away from most things. Aberfoyle is a good village to pick up supplies and visit. Oh there is facilities to wash and dry clothes on site. Which is excellent and reasonably priced.

Disliked: My only gripe is the brand new toilet block. It is very clean. Just as I'm a lone traveller with a dog. The showers and toilet cubicles are small. I was advised by reception I could use the disabled toilet/shower. Which was perfect for out needs. Just it was a free for all. Many people on the site were using it, that could have used the other showers. Also leaving it flooded and it's facilities covered in water. Some people live and treat facilities like pigs. It would have been better if they used the standard Radar Disabled Key system, that most facilities across the UK use for disabled facilities. The family room in the old toilet block was a better system. As paid a returnable deposit to use a more accessible room. So it wasn't abused by other people and pigs.

Fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site (maximum 6 metres)

Liked: This is one of the best sites we have been on and we have been on loads all around the country and also in France. The toilet block is immaculate which to us is a big thing. There is an activity centre a couple of hundred yards walk down the track and there are beautiful walks around area. Just awesome and we will definitely be back here at some stage.

Disliked: Only small thing wrong is the way the parking is set up so you have to park across the front of your caravan this blocks your view. But you can leave your car at the car park which is not far from the pitches.

Camping pod

Liked: The quiet location. The cleanliness of the pod.

Disliked: Not a dislike but a disappointment as the games room I'd read about with the pool table was not there. Apparently recently taken down. This was not on their website.

Camping pod

Liked: Clean toilet block Easy check in and instructions Pod good

Disliked: The POD we had was the least sunniest spot in the evening. Toilet cleaning times are a little too early in the morning and class with busy times No gravel at side of the POD we had to use for BBQ

Local attractions

A bluebell wood, nature trails and stunning scenery are right on site for leisurely days, and you can mountain bike over Duke's Pass or go fishing, bouldering and horse riding at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park less than half a mile away. More fishing (for salmon, sea trout, brown and rainbow trout, pike, perch, roach, chub and dace) is at Loch Lomond two miles from Trossachs. For hikes, amble the short trails and stop off for lakeside picnics at the Three Loch forest drive, six miles from the site, or combine walks with wildlife with a pootle around Blair Drummond Safari Park within half an hour's drive. For a very Scottish flavour of break, have whisky tasting and a tour around Glengoyne Distillery, 10 minutes' drive away, take a tour of Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument (35 minutes) or take a boat trip to Inchmahome Priory on the Lake of Menteith, reachable within 10 minutes.
