  • Pretty setting in an old walled garden; quiet and sheltered
  • Modern facilities block with big shower cubicles
  • On-site shop, play area for children, dog exercise area
Just under five miles from Stirling and close to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park lies Blair Drummond Caravan Park, a site in splendidly scenic surrounds and in a biking, walking and birdwatching haven among quiet country roads and tracks. (It's less than an hour to both Edinburgh and Glasgow too.) It's splendidly scenic on site too: Blair Drummond is a handsomely landscaped park with pitches set in a walled garden, sheltered by mature trees and a range of brightly flowered shrubs. It has a modern shower and loo block with large shower cubicles and laundry facilities, a shop selling daily essentials and a children's play area. There's speedy internet for customers' use, along with a barbecue shelter with a gas barbecue. The park is dog-friendly and a dog walk is nearby.

Powered concrete and grass caravan site

Liked The staff, and other campers, were all very friendly. Site was clean and modern and there was a local food stall if you didn’t feel like cooking.
The evenings ice cream van was a welcome surprise as well

Disliked I could hear a sea lion through the night but couldn’t work out what it was. I only found out what it was in the morning. It wasn’t bad, just confusing

We are home a few hours and already booking again!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Weather, staff, facilities and people were great. This is my 2nd time at the caravan park and I would come back next year. My daughter (8 years old) met lots of new friends to play with which was a bonus.

Will definitely return soon

Local attractions

Set pretty much in the centre of Scotland, Blair Drummond Caravan Park is in a stellar setting to explore some of the country's best-known places to see and things to do of all flavours. Start at nearby Blair Drummond Safari Park (buying multiple-entry tickets on site if you fancy several safari trips), then head on to Loch Katrine, steam ship Sir Walter Scott, and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. All are within a few miles, as are Stirling Castle, Doune Castle and the medieval Old Town of Stirling. Glasgow is about 45 minutes' drive away and is a smashing city for sightseeing that can be often overlooked by visitors who race only to capital Edinburgh. Have a gander at the events of the West End including the city's many festivals, the million or so books of the Mitchell Library and, if feeling quite cultured, evenings at the Scottish Opera or Scottish Ballet. Edinburgh, about an hour's drive away, is also most excellent: among the many city picks are Edinburgh Castle, the National Storytelling Centre and the National Museum of Scotland, while Silverknowes Beach is on the fringe of the city for sandy days out.
