Liked: Friendly, relaxed atmosphere from staff, visitors and more permanent residents. Everything spotless, great modern toilets and showers. Close to nice town with lots of facilities. Additional activities and entertainments for families at their sister site a few miles away if wanted. Good for dog owners.

Merrick 2 bedroom static caravan (no pets)
Liked: Fabulous facilities at this peaceful spot. The showers and utility spaces were the best I’ve seen. Modern and clean. The park manager was very helpful and accommodating; rearranging bookings to ensure we had dry pitches (as the ones we had booked were soggy). A great location, close to the centre of town with pub and shop in easy walking distance. Would love to stay here again!
Disliked: Our dog having to be on a lead at all times in the park, even although he is very well behaved and stays to heel.

Liked: Everything. The toilets were individual with shower. They were extremely clean and private. One of the best sites we have been to for a quiet break. Just a short stroll into the town of Gatehouse of Fleet which hasi a selection of good pub meals and coffee shops. Friendly Warden. water tap on each hardstanding electric pitch, motorhome service point and covered chemical toilet block. The site has no shop but all town shops close at hand. We would thoroughly recommend it.

Liked: Power supply was good and powered all the goods in the van. On site facilities were also good. There was even a bath in the shower block. All very clean. Chemical waste area was easy to use and good water strength to clean out the cassette. Dish washing area was clean and washing machine and tumble dryer were available although we didn’t use them. The site is within a few minutes walk from Gatehouse on Fleet, which has a Spar shop, hotels, restaurants and a selection of unique shops. There is a river walk and lovely spots to sit by the river. The site was so quiet and peaceful, the silence only punctuated by birdsong.
Disliked: Hardstanding pitch has the power and water point in the middle of the pitch so had to use the pebbled area to avoid hitting it. My van is just 7.4m so longer vans would have to do the same.

Liked: Spotlessly clean and modern facilities, fabulous location and friendly staff.
Disliked: Only a minor dislike, but the pitches could be more appealing…..maybe less concrete and gravel and a bit more grass to sit out on?
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We do have a few pitches with gravel on one side of the concrete base and grass on the other side. Maybe next time you book you could request one of these pitches and if available we can give you one of these pitches.
