What customers say

Loads of folks love this spot overlooking Bannow Bay. Staff are a legend, facilities are spick and span, and weekend entertainment’s a ripper. Coffee dock and chipper are a hit. Some found it a bit packed during busy times with a few pitch quirks, but most reckon it's grouse for families and can't wait to come back.

Liked The 2 lads went down it was their second stay and they loved it. I picked them up and chatted with the owner who was so welcoming. I love the set up. My daughter and her friend want to go and I may join them as it really is a fantastic spot.

Liked The view! All facilities were clean and spacious - would be great for groups travelling together. Great stop-over as close to Rosslare Harbour plus a very helpful vet in Wellingtonbridge.

Liked The location is fantastic. Its a very busy site spread over several large fields with a few right on the waters edge. Really loved the live music Friday and Saturday night, great family atmosphere.

Disliked The overall facilities were OK but given the amount of people there, a second toilet block is badly needed considering they are mixed M/F toilets and wash area. It can be very cramped with kids.
The only major issue we has was the noise at night time when several groups continued drinking and chatting pretty loud as late as 3am keeping all four of us awake. No one on site that we could find, security etc to report the excessive noise to. Luckily two of the groups left after one night.

Liked Staff were super friendly and the view is fabulous. Easy to get to and in a great location for exploring hook peninsula. Facilities were also excellent.

Disliked Just a personal preference but as it was peak season, I arrived on a Wednesday night and there was loud music until 11pm. Just not for me. It did seem a little overpriced for what I wanted, but for families and larger groups I can see the appeal. Just didn't feel worth it as a solo traveller.

Liked Food and drink available when we arrived at the three takeaway wagons
Live band playing and good atmosphere

Disliked We had booked a hard standing pitch but were directed to a field with tents and teo campervans it was fine because the weather was good but if it was wet weather it would be disastrous
The block of four shower units were all running cold I didn’t check the other two down at the campers kitchen as the queue was too long
Hard to get to but lovely view when tide is in

Local attractions

The ruin of 13th-century Tintern Abbey (not the Wordsworth one) is one of many old sites to see in Co Wexford and its surrounds. See also Hook Lighthouse at nearby Hook Head, the oldest working lighthouse in the world, and 16th-century Duncannon Fort with its maritime museum. Several towns and villages are around Bannow Bay (although do go fishing first): pedal or potter around the likes of Saltmills, Newtown, Ballygow, Ballyowen and the splendidly named Haggard Bridge to carefully compare the Guinness in each. If you're lucky enough to be on an extended trip (perhaps with the aid of that winning lottery ticket), make your way from Roches to the ferry port at Rosslare, from where you can sail serenely on to Fishguard and Pembroke in Wales, or to Cherbourg or Roscoff in la belle France.
