  • Peaceful site on a working farm in Somerset’s Blackdown Hills
  • A 30-minute drive to Diggerland Devon and 40 minutes to Sidmouth beach
  • Animals on site; near farm shops, cider pubs, cycling paths and hiking
With a wonderfully rural and peaceful location in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding National Beauty, The Paddock at Munthayes is a small, family-run campsite. With just a few pitches and plenty of space, there’s room for kids to play safely, and with the camping field set right next to a working farm, you’re set to get acquainted with cows, chickens and sheep, as well as the odd tractor trundling by. Keen cyclists? This really is a smashing base for exploring on two wheels. You can get off piste in the Quantock Hills (40 minutes’ drive) and easier family cycling routes lead up to Wellington Monument (15 minutes) or Culmstock Beacon (20 minutes). And walkers, you can take to the hills too, with masses of hard hiking or family strolls in the Quantocks and Blackdowns, while the beaches at Seaton and Sidmouth (both 40 minutes) await for swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking. Back at camp, basic facilities include portable toilets and showers, and you can pick up bits for barbecues in Churchinford (five minutes) village. There’s a cracking farm shop in Offwell (20 minutes) and a dairy selling delicious ice cream in Honiton (20 minutes, don’t tell the kids), and if you’d rather eat out, there’s no shortage of traditional country pubs serving local foods and ciders to be found in local villages.

Daffodil 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Home from home, very comfortable and very clean caravan with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. We absolutely loved our stay, whether that was watching the wildlife in such peaceful beautiful surroundings or stargazing at night. We loved the remote location, but nothing seemed too far away. We would definitely return and we 100% recommend.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Daffodil 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: The location is pretty and rural. The caravan was clean, with everything you would need. The owners were welcoming and thoughtful with the basics already being supplied in the kitchen alongside a treat too (thank you). Great outside area for BBQs and local takeaway delivery is also available. Nice pubs in the area. We had a great time at Diggerland Devon which is fairly close by. Nothing to dislike - everything was lovely.

Daffodil 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Very peaceful location surrounded by rolling countryside. Safe for children to run around. Beautiful views from Daffodil the caravan which was spotlessly clean and fully equipped. Hoping to return in the summer.

Disliked: Couldn't fault a single thing.
