  • Well-kept and peaceful park with stunning views of Dorset’s coastline
  • Weymouth and Abbotsbury Swannery both 15 minutes’ drive
  • Licensed shop, modern facilities and South West Coast Path access
Need a good dose of fresh Dorset air? You'll get exactly that at Sea Barn Farm Camping Park, 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth – along with spectacular views of Fleet Lagoon, Lyme Bay, Chesil Bank and the Isle of Portland straight from the pitches. In fact, the play area has probably one of the best views along the Dorset coastline – and if you get your timings right of an evening, you’ll hopefully also witness stunning sunsets over the sea. This 11-acre holiday park is part of a beef and cereal farm with land running right down to Fleet Lagoon, an internationally protected nature reserve and wildfowl haven. It’s about 10 minutes’ walk to the lagoon and the South West Coast Path along the specially created farm walk, which passes a wildlife habitat for bees and birds (please keep any dogs on a lead when on the trail). There’s no need to stray very far from home base once you're installed, as Sea Barn Farm has a licensed on-site shop selling groceries, wines, beers, toys, camping gas and hardware. Other handy facilities include a pristine shower block opened in 2025, as well as covered washing-up sinks and a fully equipped launderette.

What customers say

Great campsite! Awesome views, big, tidy spots, and spotless loos. Peaceful vibes, close to the coast track, and a handy shop. Most staff are ace, but some found check-in times a bit rigid and staff a bit off. Play area could use a spruce-up and clearer signs, some reckon.

Liked Pitches were well marked out. Campsite was clean. The new toilet and shower block was clean, showers were hot. WiFi signal was good on pitch 141. Great location and views.

Disliked Old toilet block needs updating. Staff weren’t very welcoming or warm. There are over 300 pitches on the site, there was no more than 10 bookings during our stay and we were pitched right next to someone else.

From the manager: We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Our pitches are numbered up to 366 but numbered in blocks, only actually 135 marked pitches. Our park is laid out with hedges, and there are usually many more on site than are visible without looking in all the nooks and crannies. The old block is clean and functional. It was due for a facelift in 2020 but we are still recovering.... One day soon hopefully.

A lovely site but rather rules-bound.

Liked Wonderful scenery, walks and wildlife

Good facilities

Disliked Although the staff we met were helpful the overall ambience of the place is rather too rules bound - when you arrive you're given two pages of what you can't do and not a word of welcome and what you CAN do. I know places have to have rules but still....

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you, we glad you enjoyed your stay. Our leaflet is one page of useful information about the park, one map, one detailing the farm walk, and one of do's and dont's to keep everyone safe. Fairly standard practice.

Liked Space around us

Disliked Almost empty site but put in a windy place without any shelter at all so awning blew down. Showers and toilets very basic. Over zealous rules and no amenities despite them being advertised. If the shop is only open an hour or so per day it should say when booking.

Unpowered grass tent site (water view)

Liked Great facilities, kids play area, laundry, and spacious well-planned pitches.
Very clean shower and bathroom block, with plenty of stalls.
A very quiet, spacious, and comfortable site.
Our pitch was very well sheltered from the wind during our stay.
The view from the water-view pitches was delightful.

Disliked Our water-view pitch was on a slope, which we found did cause our sleeping bags to slip during the night.

Liked The views and liked the walk by the campsite.the views and the walk were amasing.

Disliked Unable to get a caravan pitch with a view.

From the manager: We are so pleased you enjoyed you stay with us. The walk is so beautiful. Local planning conditions do no allow for us to site caravans on pitches with a view, in case someone 10 miles away may see us with a telescope.....

Liked Site including facilities were clean and well kept throughout. Views were excellent.

Disliked Not the best of welcomes. Lots of rules and regulations. Facilities were minimal. If there options of using clubhouse and swimming pool on adjoining site they were not pointed out by staff or on literature received.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Our Terms and Conditions are made available to all before and on arrival so everyone can have a safe and relaxing holiday. These are also included in the Ts and Cs on Pitchup when you made your booking, which are fairly standard on licenced camping premises. There is not an option of using the facilities on the neighbouring camping park which is why you were not given details about them.

Local attractions

Birdwatchers should keep binoculars to hand when wandering about the site, or you can head for Fleet Lagoon (10 minutes’ walk) to watch the antics of Brent geese, coots and terns. Set around a tumbledown medieval monastery, Abbotsbury Swannery (15 minutes’ drive) is famed for its mute swans, with their cygnets hatching during late May and June. There are furry – rather than feathered – friends to be found at Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens (25 minutes) in the shape of donkeys, alpacas and cheeky goats. If the kids haven’t seen enough wildlife by then, no doubt you’ll be heading for Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (40 minutes) to meet the primates or join keeper talks about chimps and gibbons. Try to squeeze a little culture into your offspring with a tour of Victorian-era Nothe Fort (20 minutes), where you can also take a boat trip around the harbour. If that fails to spark young minds, perhaps the sandy beach and observation wheel at Weymouth (15 minutes) will be more of a hit.
