  • Family-run site a mile from the Jurassic Coast
  • Footpath leading to the South West Coast Path
  • Shop next door and pubs within walking distance
Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

A friendly, cruisy, well-located camp with top value. Punters loved the big sites, ripper views & helpful owners. Facilities are basic but tidy. Great spot for the Jurassic Coast, near buses, pubs & beaches. Some keen for facility upgrades & road noise, but generally a bonza, budget-friendly stay.

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked Very friendly staff and campers. Lots of room on site and able to choose own pitches.

Disliked Showers were a little strange. Just a shower curtain and hooks were on the outside meaning you had to come out the shower to grab your towel

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked Great little site, so easy, can arrive anytime and leave at 2pm so get a good full time. They sell bits and pieces if you have forgotten anything. Clean toilet and shower facilities. Bus right outside to go into Weymouth or other near by towns. This is an excellent, basic site to set up with family and friends and enjoy.

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked Always such a great place to stay with a young family. Our grandchildren love staying here. The owners are kind and very friendly. It's a basic site, showers and loos and choose where to pitch. The owners have a small "shop" and sell hot drinks and a few items including kites and outdoor toys.
Brilliantly placed to just hop onto the bus into Weymouth or other nearby beauty spots.

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked Large field, nice outlook, found costal path walk nearby to local pub and beach.
Fairly close to Weymouth, bus stop outside campsite.

Disliked Shower/toilet block very dated, however clean. Seemed free for all to pitch wherever. Unit set up very close to us despite being lots of room. No real access control and security to site, watched groups of men drive up to toilet block, use faculties and hang around in their car before driving off. Bit intimidating late at night.

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
