What customers say

Top-notch campsite, mates! Expect heaps of space, clean loos and showers, friendly staff, and a ripper shop. Great coastal vibes, though the Wi-Fi's a bit dodgy and some spots are sloped. Playground noise and occasional toilet tidiness issues can pop up during busy periods.

Liked The facilities on the site were good; toilet blocks were clean and warm, the shop was well stocked and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly. The playground was a particular hit with our young daughter

Liked Smashing location. Great facilities (shop especially well stocked), and for us at least, it was quiet. That maybe because the mad summer is over? Everything we came across was spotless and well maintained. Staff were lovely, and it’s a nice treat to have an onsite pub etc.

Disliked I wouldn’t say disliked as such, but, just something to keep in mind is that on-site food and beverages are the high side of reasonable. I get why, the season is short, costs are high, and you’re paying for convenience - but - it’s just something to keep in mind if you’re budgeting

Liked Staff are very friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. We had a large grass pitch which was well maintained and level. Pitches have plenty of hedging to provide privacy and protection from the breeze. The bar and shop are well stocked, reasonably priced and welcoming. Great location- we had our dog with us and found plenty of areas in walking distance to keep her happy. Shower and toilet facilities were modern and spotless. Awesome site

Disliked Nothing to dislike- if an improvement could be made maybe the shower heights could be adjustable- the shower heads are quite high and would have been more effective if they were lower

Would help to have a dog friendly shower and washing up area.

Liked Warm and informative welcome, very swift check in.
Wonderfully clean shower/toilet block, loved the fact that toilet sink and shower all in one cubicle.
Fabulous views

Disliked A bit of rubbish in the hedge rows where previous guests were not considerate. Could do with a good litter pick.
Would love the on site shop to be open a bit later as 5pm is a bit early if you have been out walking and then need emergency milk etc.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
