Liked: The Pitchup website is very good and the Pitchup team were very helpful and efficient when I phoned to alter my booking for East Fleet Farm site. Away Resorts were not very helpful. The site and distance between pitches was excellent. The sea view and beautiful sunsets were so worthwhile. The toilets/showers and other facilities were spotlessly clean and a pleasure. We stayed there to take part in the Ironman Triathlon in Weymouth. We used the bar and restaurant. The service was good, but the portions were small. The weekend live entertainment was enjoyable and the onsite shop with Guest Services was more than adequate. We met some like minded campers and competitors for the Ironman Triathlon. The peace and quiet at night and the morning birdsong and the sighting of deer was a bonus. All motorhome pitches need levelling ramps as they are all on a slope. The Wi-Fi was adequate. We would use this site again and recommend it to our friends. It deserves the stars it has clearly earned.

Disliked: It would be a great improvement to have passing places on the road from the campsite to the main road. We are healthy appetite athletes and found the fish and chip portions with peas to be like a child’s

Liked: I've been coming here since I was 6 years old and I'm now 41.. This was the first time I brought my own 5 year old son.. I love this place for more than sentimental reasons.. the toilet and showers blocks are always clean and well serviced, the shop is well stocked with everything you will need and the pub serves great food and drink.. not to mention the beautiful surrounding lagoon and nature reserve.. don't tell too many people about this campsite though 😉

Liked: Loved the site we were in the lower field so great views of the fleet. We practically had the field to ourselves for 3 nights so lovely and peaceful. I liked the fact that the camping areas were separated by trees to give you privacy. The shop and bar and restaurant was great, ate one evening in the restaurant very tasty food and good selection, staff very accommodating too .Great walks for the dog .

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
