The clue's in the name at Beachside Holiday Park – this award-winning family-run park is right on the seafront in Westward Ho!, overlooking the town’s long sandy beach. The seafront setting is just one of the things to love about this park, giving you the option to wander out onto the sands whenever you like for some swimming and fishing or a scenic sunset picnic. The handy town location is another real bonus, as you’ll be able to stroll to a pub, café or fish and chip shop in just a few minutes. There's a small supermarket in town too, and a bigger one 10 minutes' drive away in Bideford. Those shops will likely come in useful for meal supplies – each of the stylish modern static caravans at this park has its own kitchen with a cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge. A comfy living area has a TV and heating for cosy nights in, and there's wifi throughout the park to help you keep connected. Caravans all have comfy bedrooms and private bathrooms to complete the layout, and the park has a launderette to help you keep everyone clean after their activities and outings. And what might those activities and outings be? Well, aside from the beach you can also try the town's sea pool, surf school, tennis courts and golf course, or head out to walk the South West Coast Path. Family attractions like The BIG Sheep are close by as well.

Liked A beautifully located, quiet and family friendly site. Excellent access to the rock pool, westward ho beach and town. Ideally located for a family beach holiday where it is great if you don't want to constantly have to go miles to do anything, but still accessible enough to venture out and explore this beautiful area. The caravan was clean, modern and well appointed and an excellent base if you want to self cater. There are also a great range of local restaurants to eat out within easy walking distance of the site.The staff at reception could not have been more friendly or helpful and we can't wait to return next year. The tranquility and calm of this site can't be expressed enough...as a family with neurodiversity needs the peace of the site cannot be underestimated and we loved enjoying our breakfast each morning watching rabbits gambolling just a few feet away. Beachside is a truly magical place!

Liked Excellent site, our pet friendly cabin was immaculate, smelled like a furniture shop inside. Kitchen had brilliant facilities; gas oven and big fridge freezer. The small balcony was ideal, ours had a brilliant view over the beach.

Liked Great location - great for teens -short walk into the village and amusements but pretty and peaceful well kept site for the adults! Caravan very nice quality and well equipped. Location great to explore North Devon. Bonus to have the sea pool on doorstep. Bonus to find book swop/ jigsaws to borrow in the laundrette. Younger kids could also borrow buckets/ spades/nets etc which is good for £££ and the environment- well done Beachside! Morans Thai food was amazing!

Disliked A lot of bunnies to distract the dog 😝

Local attractions

Westward Ho! is one of those places where it's easy to fill several days without leaving town. There's heaps of space on the 2.5-mile beach, with rockpools to poke in, plenty of places to fish, and surf lessons to try out. You may also like to have a dip in the sea pool, play a round at the Royal North Devon Golf Course (England’s oldest golf course, no less), hit the town's tennis courts or go horse riding on the beach with Follyfoot Equestrian Centre. The South West Coast Path is always a popular pick for walkers, or you may like to see more of the shoreline by heading straight to places like Appledore (10 minutes' drive) and Saunton Sands (35 minutes). Boat trips to the seal colonies of Lundy leave from Bideford (10 minutes), which is also the starting point for bike rides on the Tarka Trail. Ideas for kid-friendly days out nearby include The BIG Sheep (five minutes) for animal attractions and outdoor play areas, The Milky Way Adventure Park (15 minutes) for rides for all ages, and the little people of The Gnome Reserve and Wildflower Garden (15 minutes).
