A basic, out-of-the-way spot in Dartmoor. Praised for peace, amazing views, and direct access to moorland walks & wild swimming. Hayley's friendliness is a big plus. Toilets and showers are clean. Disliked We stayed 1 night leaving early next morning however Although it’s not the campsites fault the field was full of tics. Found 3 on me 1 on my girlfriend and 7 on the dog. Very unfortunate however worth noting it’s next to a working farm. Shame as made the stay uncomfortable. Not sure if there’s anything you can do to control such problem but definitely worth noting.
Portaloo Toilets were extremely overfilled however was a bank holiday Monday.

Unfortunately, when I popped over to check the site, you were out at the time, although I think believe we bumped into you at the farm gate, with your dog and asked if all was ok.
I can only apologise regarding the toilets, we had an extremely busy weekend, and they were emptied Tuesday morning.
I do my utmost to ensure they’re as clean and tidy as can be.
Going off this, we will look to get extra toilets for bank holiday, if we choose to open again next year.

Liked It's a good basic no frills campsite. Has everything you need, and lots of space to pitch. It was quiet which is what we wanted with a special needs kiddo. I didn't use the shower but the kids said it was ok. Portaloos generally ok but when we arrived on the Sunday they were pretty full and fragrant, however this resolved after they got emptied on the Monday.
Disliked Toilets - I know the site is limited by planning etc. not sure what the solution is, maybe an upgraded model of portaloos. TBF it was only the one day that they were particularly unpleasant.

Liked Lovely site, beautiful walks close by and a natural pool a short walk away. Really friendly and helpful owner. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and will be returning. My children had a great time watching the sheep shearing!

Disliked Steep field, found a pitch that was relatively flat at bottom of field near boggy ground, the generator someone had running might have been annoying, then both tent poles broke and i took it as a sign to leave, on the way out someone was pooping in the bushes.
